A total of 40 entries were recorded through ten 30-minute levels and 12 players have bagged up chips with Steve O’Dwyer leading the way.

O’Dwyer climbed the leaderboard early on but caught fire later in the evening when he picked up aces against the pocket tens of Orpen Kisacikoglu to send him to the rail. O’Dwyer is no stranger to these high roller fields with close to 32 million dollars in lifetime earnings and a recent sixth place here in the €25,000 No Limit Hold'em for €117,260. He will be looking to better that result when he puts his 679,000 stack to work in tomorrow’s finale.

Finland’s Eelis Parssinen came in late to the day but soared up the leaderboard to bag an impressive 597,000 for second place. Parssinen is not a regular to the high rollers but found a recent score here with a fourth-place finish in the €10,200 Pot Limit Omaha for €112,780.

Juan Pardo comes back tomorrow in third place with 566,000 after hitting quad threes early on to eliminate two players and sky rocket his stack. Adrian Mateos and Sergio Aido round out the top five as they hope to take down this EPT title.

Many notables joined the action throughout the day but those who could not find a bag included Erik Seidel, Seth Davies, Juha Helppi, and Patrik Antonius, who will all have another chance to jump back in the action tomorrow.

The cards will go back in the air at 12:30 p.m. local time with the blinds resuming at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante and action will play down till a winner is crowned.

Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back on-site tomorrow as EPT Barcelona concludes here in Catalonia.

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Joni Jouhkimainen opened to 6,000 from the button and Mikita Badziakouski called from the big blind.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Jouhkimainen continued for 4,500. Badziakouski called.

On the {10-Diamonds} turn, both players would tap the table, with Jouhkimainen waiting until the very last second to make his decision.

On the {4-Diamonds} river, which put four diamonds on the board, Badziakouski put out a bet of 7,500. Jouhkimainen called.

Badziakouski showed {8-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a turned straight but it was no good as Jouhkimainen showed {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for the flush, leaving Badziakouski with less than seven big blinds.

Parssinen Wins Round Two Against Vieira

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

An orbit ago Joao Vieira and Eelis Parssinen were in a battle of the blinds and they found themselves in the same spot again. Vieira checked the river on a board of {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Hearts} in a pot of close to 40,000 and Parssinen moved all in, covering the 42,000 remaining for Vieira.

Vieira used all his time bank cards, taking several minutes on the decision. After the clock was close to zero, Vieira elected on a fold and Parssinen won round two of their blind on blind confrontation. After being short stacked Vieira found himself all in shortly after and was sent to the rail.

Meanwhile on another table, Patrik Antonius, who late registered, was heading for the exit as he was eliminated as well.
