Tang Eliminates Martirosian

Artur Martirosian raised to 8,000 from the hijack and was called by Danny Tang on the button and Paul Phua in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Martirosian continued for 10,000 when checked to. Only Tang called.

The {4-Diamonds} was the turn and Martirosian check-called Tang's 33,000 bet.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Maritrosian checked to Tang who moved all in for 100,000 effective. Martirosian went into the tank before deciding to call. Tang turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for top pair which beat Maritosian's {a-Clubs}{9-Spades} to eliminate him from the tournament.

Meanwhile Christoph Vogelsang, David Peters, Elton Tsang and Dan Smith were all eliminated shortly before the dinner break.

Smith Sends Chidwick Away Before Dinner

Dan Smith raised on the button, Stephen Chidwick jammed from the small blind and Smith called having Chidwick slightly covered.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, the turn was the {9-Clubs} and the river came the {k-Diamonds} to send Chidwick away just before the dinner break.

Petrangelo Gets Value on River

Nick Petrangelo raised to 8,000 from the cutoff and was called by Artur Martirosian in the big blind.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Martirosian check-called Petrangelo's 16,500 bet.

Action checked through on the {j-Spades} turn.

The river was the {2-Hearts} and action checked to Petrangelo who bet 36,000. Martirosian snap called and turned over {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for top pair. It was no good however as Petrangelo turned over top pair top kicker to take down the pot.

Tang Bombs River

The board read {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs} on the river with a pot of 26,000 in the middle. From the cutoff Danny Tang bet more than twice the pot as he put out 60,500.

Paul Phua was in the small blind and slammed down a couple of time banks and thought it out. He acted perplexed by the bet by making some comments and was able to get Tang to break his composure for a second by busting out laughing during the tank.

Eventually, Phua folded and Tang gathered the pot.

Burns Check Raises Flop

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Kazuhiko Yotusushika raised to 7,000 from the cutoff. Kahle Burns called in the big blind.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Yotusushika continued for 7,000. Burn put in the check raise to 25,500 in which Yotusushika folded.

Antonius Gets Up

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Action was on the river with the board having ran out {3-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. It was a blind on blind battle as Patrik Antonius had bet on both the flop and turn from the small blind was called both times by Danny Tang in the big blind.

On the river, Antonius bet 18,000 and this time Tang jammed all in. Antonius went into the tank as he was covered. He used up all his time banks before eventually calling as his final time extension wound down.

Tang tabled the {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for two pair, which Antonius had the no good {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and he was busted shortly after sitting down.
