Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Dragos Trofimov
Dragos Trofimov

With a big pot in the middle and {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} on the board, Christophe Panetti bet 150,000 and Dragos Trofimov slide out a stack of T-25,000 - enough to cover the rest of Panetti's chips. Panetti thought for a moment before he slid in the rest of his chips.

Trofimov turned over {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for aces full of eights and Panetti showed the losing {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} before making his way to the payout table.

Tulin Eliminated by Golder

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Nikolai Tulin
Nikolai Tulin

Just before the blinds had gone up, Nicola Grieco raised to 25,000 in the cutoff and Daniel Golder then pushed for 212,000 on the button. Nikolai Tulin tossed in his time bank extensions in the small blind to indicate he would require some time to think.

Ultimately, Tulin pushed forward his stack of around 141,000 and Grieco instantly folded.

Nikolai Tulin: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Daniel Golder: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

The two players bumped fists and it was Golder who came out on top on the {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Spades} board to eliminate Tulin.

Der Megreditchian Doubles Through Tantillo

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On the featured table, Fausto Tantillo opened to 30,000 on the button and Jacques Der Megreditchian shoved for 303,000 in the big blind. Tantillo called.

Jacques Der Megreditchian: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Fausto Tantillo: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop put Der Megreditchian further ahead, and although the {5-Clubs} turn provided a sweat, the {10-Hearts} completed the board to put a small dent in Tantillo's stack as Der Megreditchian secured the double.

Yaghmai Pulls Ahead of Hvam

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Nariman Yaghmai won two pots in a row to increase his stack and pulled ahead of Morten Hvam. In the first hand, Hvam defended out of the blinds and check-raised the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop to then lead the {4-Spades} turn and Yaghmai called.

Hvam opted to check the {4-Clubs} river and Yaghmai bet 300,000 with 495,000 behind. No call followed and the pot was awarded to Yaghmai. He then won another pot off Erkan Soenmez to further increase his stack.

Deak Takes From Chisu

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Danut Chisu limped in from the small blind and Ferenc Deak raised to 42,000 from the big blind. Chisu called and the flop was {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Chisu check-called a 25,000 bet from Deak and the turn was {10-Spades}.

Chisu check-called again when Deak bet 55,000 and the river was {6-Spades}.

Both players checked the river and Deak turned over {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of kings. Chisu showed the losing {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and sent it into the muck.

Satubayev Ousted by Chen

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Over on the featured table, Zhong Chen opened to 25,000 from under the gun and Shyngis Satubayev three-bet to 150,000 in the cutoff, leaving himself just 41,000 behind. Action folded back to Chen who jammed, and Satubayev called for his remaining chips.

Shyngis Satubayev: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Zhong Chen: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The two were racing, and the {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop kept the tens ahead. The {7-Clubs} turn left Satubayev needing an ace or king to stay alive, but the {5-Spades} completed the board to eliminate him in 39th place.

Mantor Busts to Sfez; Misses Pay Jump

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Didrik Mantor
Didrik Mantor

Eric Sfez opened from the cutoff and Didrik Mantor three-bet to 115,000 in the small blind. Back on Sfez he quickly four-bet to 450,000 and Mantor opted to call for the vast majority of his stack.

As the {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop fell, Sfez vaulted out of his seat to check how many chips Mantor had behind. Both somehow checked and Mantor then bet the {q-Clubs} turn for 50,000 with 4,000 behind. The reason behind the move on the pay jump was rather obvious and Sfez pist-fump raised to 125,000 in a matter of a second.

As Mantor studied the tournament clock and called it off even though he still had several time bank extensions behind.

Didrik Mantor: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Eric Sfez: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Sfez all but celebrated and then had reason to when the blank {2-Hearts} river failed to keep Mantor in contention. He was eliminated in 40th place and missed out on the pay jump.

Saliba Shoves, Sargsyan Folds

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action was heads-up with {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades} on the board and Aram Sargsyan bet 40,000. Justin Saliba called and the pot moved over 200,000.

The river was {10-Spades} and Sargsyan continued for 80,000. Saliba thought for a moment and shoved the rest of his stack in, having Sargsyan well covered. Sargsyan went into the tank and considered his options, but ultimately he got away from it. Saliba picked up the pot and he is back near the 1,000,000 mark after taking a small step back earlier.

Grieco Runs Out of Time

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Marcelo Simoes
Marcelo Simoes

Yannick Cardot raised to 25,000 and Marcelo Simoes in the hijack called. Nicola Grieco on the button three-bet to 100,000 and received two calls. The {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop was checked to Grieco and he bet 200,000 for Cardot to fold and Simoes to call.

After the {3-Diamonds} turn both players checked and Simoes bet the {q-Diamonds} river for 250,000.

Grieco went into the tank and surpassed the 30-second shot clock. With one time bank remaining, the next 30 seconds ticked down and the the dealer counted down the final ten seconds as Grieco sat there motionless.

When the time had run up, his hand was dead which the Italian had not realised yet. The dealer called over the floor and Grieco's cards were indeed dead as Simoes raked in the pot. As he tried to get some information from his opponent, Grieco was shown a fishing rod throw by Simoes.
