The PokerStars Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) at Casino Barcelona continued today with an action-filled Day 2 of €2,200 Estrellas Poker Tour High Roller. Over the two Day 1 flights yesterday, a massive 2,214 entrants made up this record-breaking high roller. Of those, 332 found a bag for the Day 2 restart this morning. After 10 hours of play, only 10 remain.

As the dust settled, Conor Beresford bagged the overall chip lead taking through a total of 16,075,000 for the Day 3 restart. Although the path to victory won’t be easy as Antoine Labat will be hot on Beresford’s heels as he also managed to bag a seven-figure stack of 11,075,000.

As they play down to a winner, eyes will be on Beresford as he has some of the most tournament experience out of the final ten. With an impressive $2,389,071 in live tournament earnings, Beresford will certainly be looking to add €629,990 to that sum, alongside the elusive trophy.

Day 2 Action

The PokerStars Team Pros had a good showing all around as Benjamin Spragg, Fintan Hand and Arlie Shaban all cashed the event.
Shaban was flying the Team Pro flag the longest until his deep run was ended after landing on the wrong side of a coin flip, finishing his tournament journey in 42nd place for €10,410.

Many familiar faces fell short of tournament glory here on Day 2 in Spain, including Alexandre Reard, Aliaksandr Shylko, and Benny Glaser.

Day 3 will restart at 12 p.m. on the 28th of August and will play down until just one player remains. Play will start on Level 33 with blinds at 125,000/250,000 with a 250,000 big blind ante.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be back to bring you more coverage of the Estrellas Poker Tour High Roller until another champion is crowned here in Barcelona, so stay tuned.
