Nasty River Sends Lee to the Rail

Hanseok Ko opened 1,800 in the cutoff and Hun Lee defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of K♠9♦4♠, and Lee check-called a continuation bet of 1,600.

When the 2♦ fell on the turn, Lee check-raised all-in against the bet of 7,500 from Ko. Ko went deep into the tank. After two minutes had passed, Ko asked how much the bet was and the dealer let him know it was 19,300. A few more seconds went by before Ko splashed in the call.

Both players had turned a flush draw but Lee was way ahead with his ace-high. The 8♣ river was a nasty one for Lee, though, as it paired Ko to send him to the rail.

Peluso Saves Himself

Fabio Peluso and Dylan Cechowski were heads-up on a board of 10♠4♥6♣7♦ when Peluso bet 6,300 from early position and Cechowski called in the big blind.

The river came the K♣ and Cechowski checked over to Peluso again. Peluso spent a few minutes in the tank, counting out his stack and preparing to push his chips in the middle before ultimately deciding to check.

Cechowski then showed him 7♥7♣ for a set and Peluso mucked.

"Close to firing, huh?" tablemate Steven Jones told Peluso after the hand.

Mark Teltscher was eliminated from this table earlier, while Michael Wang is currently on an extreme short stack.

Monti Leaves Storaakers Short

Action folded around to the blinds, where Giancarlo Monti raised to 1,500 from the small blind and was called by Johan Storaakers in the big blind.

Storaakers proceeded to call bets from Monti on every street. First for 2,500 on the A♠K♠J♥ flop, then for 6,000 on the 3♣ turn, and finally for 7,000 on the 6♣ river.

Monti tabled A♣K♥ for top two pair and Storaakers mucked — conceding the pot to Monti.

Storaakers was left with just 2,500 following the hand and busted shortly thereafter.

Set Over Set For Astarita

Giulio Astarita raised from the hijack to 1,300. He saw Jimmy Guerrero fold on the button, but Andrea Piglionica three-bet to 3,900 in the small blind.

Astarita called, and discovered a 2♠8♦10♠ flop, where he bet 3,000. But Piglionica chose to check-raise to 8,200. Astarita made a face but eventually called.

The 4♣ came on the turn, and Piglionica shoved for 16,800 chips. Astarita snap-called.

Muller's Set Sends Le Vaillant Out

Jens-Florian Muller opened to 1,200 first-to-act and was called by Alexandre Le Vaillant in the small blind and Gerardus Englebert in the big blind.

Le Vaillant checked to Englebert on the Q♣J♦5♦ flop and he bet 1,500. Both Le Vaillant and Muller called.

The 7♣ fell on the turn and it was checked to Muller, who bet 3,800. Le Vaillant called all in for his last 3,000 and Englebert called as well.

Englebert then check-called a 10,000 bet from Muller on the 7♠ river and Muller showed 5♥5♣ for fives-full of sevens. Englebert held the J♠10♥ and Le Vaillant mucked — eliminating him from contention.
