At Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa, the PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus' second day of competition is about to start with the beginning of the first Main Event: the $1,100 Eureka.
In this five-day event, players will have four flights to qualify for Day 2. And the two first ones are scheduled today, Thursday, October 12, with Day 1a starting at noon local time, and 1b at 7 p.m.
On Day 1a, players will receive 30,000 chips and try to increase their stacks on 40-minute levels, starting with Level 1 (100/100 with a 100 big blind ante). There will be a 20-minute break every three levels, and the Day will end when 15% of the field will remain. Only players who'll put chips in their bags will be qualified for Day 2 and in the money.
Two entries are allowed per flight, and late registrations will be closed at the end of Level 10 (approximately 7:40 p.m., after a 75-minute dinner break).

Okan Kurumoglu on the button opened to 300, and he was only called by Svetlin Saber in the small blind.
On 2♥10♦K♣, Kurumoglu's continuation bet to 400 was called again. But the A♥ on the turn froze the action as both players checked.
The 8♣ landed on the river, and Sabev took the lead betting 1,000. Kurumoglu raised to 2,500, and made Sabev fold.

On the button, Suleyman Sinan Yuce raised to 300, and both players in the blinds called.
The dealer fanned a flop of 7♠4♥9♥. Yuce bet 300 again, and Andrei Bocharnikov in the small blind check-called. But in the big blind, Jacek Pustula check-raised to 1,500. Yuce made the call, but Bocharnikov folded.
The J♥ came on the turn. And after Pustula bet 1,500, Yuce gave his cards to the dealer.

Winner of the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event during EPT Barcelona in August, Lucien Cohen is in the field and has already eliminated a player.
From the hijack, he opened to 300, then was raised to 1,600 by Azamat Tulepbergenov in the cutoff. Cohen called, and discovered a 6♣4♠J♣ flop.
Tulepbergenov, bet 2,000, but Cohen raised to 6,500. Then Tulepbergenov moved all in with the starting stack, and Cohen called.

Cohen hit a set on the flop, and it held after the turn 2♥ and the river 9♠. "I knew he had a big pair. I even thought he had aces," Cohen said, while Tulepbergenov was leaving the tournament area.
