Day 1 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Cyprus $10,200 Mystery Bounty, running at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa, has now concluded.

A total of 83 entries have been made so far and of those 54 players have bagged and tagged to return for Day 2. The prize pool so far is $390,100.

At the end of Day 1, Kanan Taherkhani of Turkey is way out in front with 756,500 chips.

He's followed by high stakes German player Christian Rudolph, who sits in second place with 490,000. Elias Gutierrez of Spain is currently in third place with 393,500.

When play resumes, blinds will resume at 1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 big blind ante. Late registration remains open until the end of Level 10. The tournament is set to play down to a winner on Day 2.

Action was on the flop on a board of J89. Alex Kulev was all in against Anthony Stumbo, who had the slightly bigger stack as players turned their cards.

Kulev had a flush draw along with overcards to the board. Stumbo had a pair of nines with a gutshot straight draw.

The turn came the A and the river was the K, which gave Kulev two pair with his aces and kings. He won the pot and took nearly all of Stumbo's chips.

Stumbo got the rest of his chips in the middle the next hand and managed to triple up to stay in the game.

After buying back in for his second bullet, Nikolay Baryshnikov raised to 7,000 from middle position. He was called by the small blind and Steve O'Dwyer in the big blind.

The flop came K104. Action checked to Baryshnikov, who put out a continuation bet. The small blind folded and Steve O'Dwyer responded by moving all in with a relatively short stack. Baryshnikov made the call.

Baryshnikov showed 77 for pocket sevens. O'Dwyer showed 106 for a pair of tens.

The turn came the 10 and the river was the 7.

O'Dwyer improved his hand on the turn to make trip tens, but Baryshnikov made a full house, sevens full of tens on the river. He won the pot to chip up to around 170,000 and O'Dwyer was sent to the rail.

Moments later, however, Baryshnikov was seen leaving the table following an all in. He has fired two bullets and so will not have the option to reenter.

The PokerStars European Poker Tour has reached its next destination with a debut visit to Northern Cyprus. The series is running at Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa today through Sunday, October 22.

First up on the live reporting schedule is the $10,200 Mystery Bounty, which commences this evening at 7 p.m. local time. Players will start the Mystery Bounty with a stack of 100,000 chips. Day 1 will run for eight 30-minute levels, with blinds kicking off at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. A 20-minute break is scheduled at the end of Level 4.

Day 2 starts October 12 at 12:30 p.m. and late registration remains open until the end of Level 10, which will be around 1:30 p.m. There's only a single reentry available in the event, so players will have to make each bullet count as they aim to make the money. Approximately 15 percent of the field will be paid.

Of the total buy-in, $5,000 will go towards the bounty prize pool, with mystery bounty tokens coming into play Thursday at the start of Level 13. Bounty prizes will not be confirmed until after the close of registration, but it is expected that the largest bounty will be worth $100,000.
