Sboev Four-Bets Light, Smacks the River to Double

Evgenii Sboev raised to 1,000 under the gun before Andrew Gray three-bet to 3,500 in the cutoff. Carl Shaw called on the button as action went back to Sboev, who put in a four-bet to 11,700.

Both Gray and Shaw called, putting more than 30,000 in the pot already as they went three-handed to the 2♥5♣7♠ flop. Sboev then led out for 4,500 and Gray called, while Shaw got out of the way.

The turn came the 3♥ and Sboev checked over to Gray who moved all in. "Alright, let's gamble," Sboev said as he slammed in his last 21,000 after tanking for a few minutes.

Gray showed 10♠10♥, while Sboev had K♥5♥ for a pair and flush draw. The A♥ fell on the river and Sboev made his flush to double up.

2023 EPT Paris finalist Fabrice Bigot under the gun opened to 1,000 but was raised to 2,800 by Hang Xu seated on his left.

Bigot called and checked on the flop A♠7♠5♠. Xu checked back. The turn was the 2♦, and Bigot checked again, so Xu bet 3,200. But he saw Bigot check-raise to 6,500. Xu didn't wait much to call.

On the river 7♣, Bigot shoved, and Xu snap-called with his last 10,000 chips.

Hang had top pair, but Bigot hit the nut flush directly on the flop, so Xu was eliminated just before the break.

Denis Vitchenko min-raised to 800 from under the gun and Dylan DeStefano reraised to 2,100 from the button. Vitchenko called.

The flop came Q♣3♥A♣. Vitchenko checked and DeStefano fired out a small bet of 700. Vitchenko check-raised all in with a relatively short stack of less than 10,000 and DeStefano made the call. Players flipped their cards, with Vitchenko at risk.

DeStefano had top two pair and Vitchenko had a flush draw with a backdoor straight draw. The turn came the 10♦ and the river was the 2♦. Vitchenko picked up a pair on the turn but failed to improve on the river.
