Michel Atallah raised to 300 from middle position and Stefan Rothdauscher called. Simone Andrian reraised to 1,300 from the button and both Atallah and Rothdauscher called.

The flop came 3♣2♥6♠. Action checked to Andrian, who continued for 2,100. Atallah called and Rothdauscher folded.

The turn was the Q♥. Atallah checked and Andrian bet 7,000. Atallah then moved all in and Andrian quickly called. Players flipped their cards.

Atallah showed 7♦7♠ for pocket sevens and Andrian showed Q♦Q♣ for a set of queens.

The river came the 4♦. Andrian won the pot and got the early double-up. Atallah was eliminated.

2023 EPT Barcelona Main Event champion Simon Wiciak just arrived in the field. On one of the first hands he played, he called from the small blind after an open to 400 by Michael Sullivan in the hijack.

On the flop J♣4♦6♠, Sullivan made a continuation-bet to 400. But Wiciak check-raised to 1,200. Sullivan didn’t back down and called to find the 10♥ on the turn.

Wiciak checked before Sullivan bet 2,500 and Wiciak made the fold.

Three-handed on a board of 2♥2♦5♣J♣, Joan Perez bet 1,200 on the button and both Sebastian Schulze and Andrii Zaika called in the blinds.

The river came the 6♣ and Schulze checked before Zaika fired out 4,000. Perez quickly folded, but Schulze sat motionless for a minute before emerging with a raise to 20,000.

"Pass," Zaika instantly said, tossing 4♥3♦ into the middle of the table as Schulze took the pot.

Navas Tanks to Massive River Bet, Skrbic Shows a Six

Milos Skrbic and Rafael Navas had already built a pot of around 14,000 heading to the river on a completed board of 7♠5♦5♣10♦K♦.

Skrbic, in the small blind, then bet another 12,200. Navas went deep in the tank for several minutes, leaning over the table and twirling his chips in his hand as he considered the decision.

He eventually folded and Skrbic showed the 6♥ as he took the pot.

In a three-bet pot, Daniel Smiljkovic under the gun bet 1,000 on the flop 5♣8♠6♠. In the cutoff, Daniel Koloszar called, and the 8♣ landed on the turn.

Smiljkovic asked for 5,000 chips on this second eight, and Koloszar kept calling.

Finally, the 3♠ came on the river, and Smiljkovic fired a third barrel of 5,500. Koloszar called quickly, but had to muck his cards when Smiljkovic revealed 8♥7♥.

The flop came 6♦J♠10♦. Gray continued for 2,500 and only Meragal called. The turn was the 2♦. Gray bet 4,000 and Meragal called.

The river came the J♣. Gray bet again, this time for 6,000 and Meragal called again.

Meragal showed A♥J♥ for a pair of jacks and Gray showed 10♥10♠ for a set of tens to win a significant pot.

Andrei Shapovalov three-bet to 2,100 out of the big blind and received three callers, including Peng Yang under the gun, Erdem Akmert in the hijack, and button Rashad Iskandarov.

The flop came 7♠3♦J♣ and Shapovalov checked over to Yang, who bet 2,600. Only Akmert called to see the 8♥ turn.

Yang then bet another 10,600 and Akmert quickly moved his entire stack forward, a bet of around 28,000. Yang only had 10,500 remaining and quickly mucked his hand.

The river card was the Q♦, and Trattou bet 9,000 more. Then Albers moved all in for approximately 24,000, and Trattou snap-called.

Heads-up on a flop of 2♥3♦A♦, Nathan Tetart bet 500 from the cutoff before Walid Bou Habib, runner-up in EPT Deauville a decade ago, raised to 1,500 out of the small blind.

Tetart then made it 4,500 and Bou Habib called to the 3♠ turn. He checked and Tetart fired out 3,000. Bou Habib again called and the 6♥ fell on the river.

Bou Habib checked again and Tetart moved all in for 20,700. Bou Habib barely had him covered and tanked for more than a minute before tossing his cards away.

Ian Hamilton, the 2022 EPT London champion, has recently taken his seat at an adjacent table.
