€1,100 FPS Main Event
Day 1a Started
It's time for another European Poker Tour (EPT) stop as PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® kicks off at Sporting Monte-Carlo along the beautiful Monaco coastline. PokerNews is on-site to cover the tournament action and that coverage begins today with Event #1: €1,100 FPS Main Event, which kicks off at 1 p.m. local time.
The four-day France Poker Series Main Event will feature four starting flights, the second of which will take place later today and the latter two of which will be held on April 27.
If the most recent FPS Main Event offering in Paris earlier this year was any indication, the event should draw a sizable field. Despite venue limitations, that event managed to draw a field of 1,918 entries — making it the largest-ever FPS Main Event field — as Alan Goasdoue defeated fellow Frenchman Jean-Luc Labryga in heads-up play to win the trophy and €287,830.
Action will kick off with blinds of 100/100/100 and levels lasting 40 minutes with 20-minute breaks every three levels. There is also a 75-minute dinner break currently scheduled to take place after the completion of Level 10. Breaks will decrease to 15 minutes after Level 13 and the level lengths will increase to an hour after Level 16.
Players are allowed two entries per flight and each flight will play until 15 percent of the field remains, at which point all players will be in the money heading to Day 2.
Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team is here on the Mediterranean coast and ready to provide updates of all of the EPT Monte Carlo action.

The action is underway and the cards are in the air in Event #1: FPS Main Event Day 1a.
Polad Akhmedov opened to 300 on the button and Yoan Ouache defended out of the big blind.
Ouache checked on the flop of 3♥8♣7♣ and Akhmedov continued for 900. Ouache called. Ouache checked again on the 2♦ turn and called when Akhmedov sized up to 2,000.
Ouache checked a third time on the Q♦ river and Akhmedov fired a third barrel worth 2,500. Ouache called. Akhmedov showed a bluff with A♣5♠ for ace-high and Ouache showed J♣7♦ to take the pot with a pair of sevens.

In a limped pot preflop between Uzeyir Topchibashev in the small blind and the player in the big blind, the dealer fanned out a flop of 7♥7♠3♦.
Topchibashev checked to the big blind who tossed out a bet of 200 and Topchibashev made the call. On the 8♣ turn both players checked to the K♣ river where action again went check-check.
Topchibashev rolled over 8♦6♦ for a turned pair of eights and scored the early pot when his opponent mucked their hand.

Adrian Pacheco opened the action from the hijack to 200 and Soraya Estrada made the call on the button. Patrick Nataf elected to three-bet to 800 from the small blind and both players came along.
The flop fanned out K♦K♠5♣ and the action checked through to the J♣ turn. Nataf took the lead with a bet of 2,600 and both Pacheco and Estrada called.
The 9♠ completed the board and Nataf checked over to Pacheco who sized to 5,600. Estrada took a few seconds before folding and Nataf took a moment before tossing in the chips for a call.
"You got it," said Pacheco as he tabled A♠10♦ for only ace-high and Nataf rolled over A♦K♥ for flopped trips to score the sizable pot.
