Sitbon Sits Back Down

Level 19 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Sam Greenwood opened the action from middle position with a raise to 65,000. It folded to Julien Sitbon on the button who jammed all in for 365,000 before the action returned to Greenwood. Greenwood quickly called and the first preflop showdown of the final table was a fact.

Julien Sitbon: 1010
Sam Greenwood: JJ

The board ran out 9934 and Sitbon began to say his goodbyes. However, the miraculous 10 hit the river while Sitbon was mid-sentence and in the motion of getting up. He quickly sat down again to rake in his newly acquired chips.

All-Ins but No Calls

Level 19 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Guram Andronikashvili opened to 60,000 in middle position and Sam Greenwood ripped all in as the big stack in the small blind. Nacho Barbero eyed up the small stacks at the table and used one of his time extensions but opted to fold, and Andronikashvili followed suit.

On the next hand, Maksim Vaskresenski shipped all in for around 300,000 in the hijack and Conor Beresford thought for a brief moment in the big blind before dumping his cards in the muck.

Andronikashvili Squeezes Out a Profit

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

A lot of pots have been taken down preflop or on the flop. The last example of such a pot happened when Conor Beresford opened to 50,000 from the cutoff and got a call from Artur Martirosian in the small blind. However, big blind Guram Andronikashvili smelled blood and put in a three-bet to 150,000.

This was enough to get the other two players to muck their hands and Andronikashvili won a small but nevertheless important pot.

Greenwood Puts Sitbon to the Test

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

On the last hand of the previous level, Sam Greenwood raised to 45,000 in the hijack. Julien Sitbon three-bet to 155,000 in the small blind and Greenwood just called.

The flop came J72 and Sitbon continued with a bet of 110,000 which Greenwood called. The turn brought the 8 and Sitbon checked this time. Greenwood tossed in a bet of 125,000 and Sitbon called.

The river was the 6 and Sitbon checked again. Greenwood used a time extension and then announced all in, putting Sitbon to the test for his remaining 490,000 chips. Sitbon slammed in his stack of time extension chips but only used one of them before mucking his cards.

Andronikashvili Gets It Done on the Flop

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Conor Beresford opened from under the gun to 40,000 before Guram Andronikashvili made it 110,000 to go from middle position. The action folded back to Beresford who mulled it over for a while but ended up calling.

The flop was Q76 and Andronikashvili bet his remaining chips after a check from Beresford. Beresford quickly folded, leading to a nice increase in Andronikashvili's stack.

Joao Vieira was one of the shortest stacks remaining and moved all in for 210,000 in the cutoff. Sam Greenwood also pushed all in on the button and Julien Sitbon called off his last 340,000 in the big blind.

Joao Vieira: AJ
Julien Sitbon: AQ
Sam Greenwood: 66

The flop came 832 and Greenwood was still in the lead with his pair of sixes, looking for the double knockout. However, the A on the turn put Sitbon in the lead after spiking a pair of aces. The 9 bricked the river and Vieira was the lone casualty.

Andronikashvili on the Short Stack

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 40,000 in the cutoff and Guram Andronikashvili defended from the big blind. The flop came Q22 and Andronikashvili started with a check. Greenwood bet 20,000 and Andronikashvili check-raised to 50,000 which Greenwood called.

The turn was the 9 and both players checked to the 3 on the river. Andronikashvili led out with a bet of 65,000 and Greenwood looked him up. Andronikashvili showed A3 for a pair of threes but Greenwood turned over 98 for a pair of nines.
