Jacobson Jams the River

Azim Orunov opened to 3,000 in middle position and Martin Jacobson called from the cutoff. The flop came Q♣9♦2♣ and Orunov continued with a bet of 3,000 which Jacobson called.

The turn brought the Q♥ and Orunov checked this time. Jacobson fired out a bet of 6,000 and Orunov stuck around for the 8♦ on the river. Orunov checked once more and Jacobson jammed all in for 28,500. Orunov went into the tank for a couple of minutes but eventually relinquished his cards.

Roman Hrabec raised to 4,500 from the small blind before Mehdi Chaoui made it 20,000 from the big blind. Hrabec called and action was heads up.

The flop was 3♥7♣10♠ and Hrabec checked. Chaoui thought for a few moments before he tossed out 23,000 to force the fold and take the pot.

Martinez Drops Two in a Row

Fabrice Maltez and Sergi Martinez were heads-up in a three-bet pot and the dealer fanned the flop of K♦7♦2♠. Both players checked and the K♠ landed on the turn. Maltez led out with a bet of 10,000 and Martinez just called.

The river was the 3♣ and Maltez slid out a bet of 55,000. Martinez thought for a moment but eventually folded his J♠J♦. Maltez let him choose one card and Martinez was happy to see the K♥ revealed.

On the next hand, Martinez opened to 4,000 and Vlado Banicevic reraised to 12,000 on his left. The action folded back to Martinez who called to see a flop of A♣Q♣Q♦.

Martinez checked to Banicevic who bet 6,000 and Martinez check-raised to 18,000. Banicevic called and the 9♠ rolled off on the turn. Martinez counted out a bet of 35,000 and Banicevic pushed all in for 126,000. Martinez went into the tank for around three minutes but eventually decided to fold once again.

Matthias Lipp shoved from under the gun with his last 16,500 and Weiran Pu looked him up from the button. The blinds got out of the way and action was heads up with Lipp at risk.

Ruosi Chips Up With Calderone Elimination

Eros Calderone raised to 4,500 from early position before Andrea Ruosi called from middle position. A player in the button came along before Jean-Jacques Zeitoun made it 32,000 from the big blind.

Calderone shoved his last 30,000 into the middle and Ruosi jammed with 151,000 to send the button into the muck before the pressure was on Zeitoun.

Zeitoun went into the tank before he tossed his cards away and action was heads up with Calderone at risk.

The board ran out 7♦4♠2♣9♣2♠ and Ruosi held on with Big Slick to send Calderone to the rail.

Tommaso Briotti opened to 5,000 in the hijack and Samy Boujmala three-bet to 15,000 in the cutoff. Dominik Nitsche four-bet to 40,000 from the small blind and Briotti five-bet jammed all in for 64,500. Boujmala asked for a count but decided to lay his hand down while Nitsche snap-called.

The flop came 10♦9♦5♥ and Boujmala grumbled as he would have flopped a set. However, the Q♥ peeled off on the turn and Nitsche took the lead with a set of queens. The K♣ completed the board and Briotti was ousted.

"It's a cooler!" someone exclaimed at the table as they shrugged their shoulders.
