Selahaddin Bedir had put in a three-bet preflop from the button following an open-raise. Mario Navarro Arrocha then four-bet from the small blind to 180,000 and Bedir made the call.
The flop came 8♠Q♥J♥ and Arrocha continued for 125,000, which Bedir called.
The turn came the 5♦ and Arrocha moved all in. Bedir folded his hand and Arrocha scooped a pot that brought him to over 1,000,000 chips.
Mario Navarro Arocha and Antoine Labat checked through the turn on a 9♥5♠8♣5♦ board. The river was the 7♠ and Navarro Arrocha checked again from middle position to Labat, who was on the button. Labat thought about it for a bit and bet a sizable 136,000 into the pot of 160,000.
Navarro Arocha quickly called and Labat could not show anything higher than king-high with his K♦J♠. Navarro Arracho had his opponent narrowly beaten with the ace-high hero call as he showed down A♠10♠.
Sam Greenwood had bet 15,000 into a pot of 66,000 from the big blind. The board read 6♦6♥10♣8♠4♥. Selahaddin Bedir was on the button and raised to 75,000.
Greenwood mulled it over for a bit before making the call, but mucked his hand as soon as Bedir showed him the 9♦9♣ for some thin value.
Bedir is one of the biggest stacks in the room and sits on just over one million chips.
Sam Greenwood raised to 22,000 from early position and Marian Mitran shoved from the small blind for 158,000. Marc Boyer asked for the count and then moved all in with Mitran covered. Greenwood folded and two players flipped their cards.
Marian Mitran: A♦K♣
Marc Boyer: 3♥3♠
It was a coinflip scenario with Mitran at risk of busting. The board ran out 4♥8♦10♥2♥10♣ and Boyer's pocket threes held up. He shouted out in joy as the river came and he claimed the bounty.
Mitran, meanwhile, was eliminated from the tournament.
All of Konnikava's 110,000 chips were in the middle when the action was caught and Aleksandar Tomovic had made the call with the covering stack.
Maria Konnikova: A♦K♠
Aleksandar Tomovic: A♠8♦
The board ran out an uneventful 4♦7♠3♣9♣2♣ and Konnikova raked in a double-up seconds before she got moved to another table. Tomovic, on the other hand, was left with just over four big blinds.
The flop read 9♠K♦10♠ in a pot between Ignacio Sole Aparicio and Ehsan Amiri. The pot amounted to 110,000 and Sole Aparicio checked from under the gun to Amiri on the button, who put out a bet of 40,000. Sole Aparicio responded with a minimum raise to 80,000.
''Is this a bluff?'' Amiri asked.
''I'm always bluffing this spot" Sole Aparicio answered, after which both players shared a smile. Eventually, the supposed bluff worked as Amiri laid his hand down.
Amiri was one of the lucky players to pull a €40,000 bounty out of the chest earlier today.
Action folded around to Danielle Noja on the button, who shoved all in with a short stack. Lymor Davidson made the call in the big blind and players flipped their cards, with Noja at risk.
Danielle Noja: A♦5♣
Lymor Davidson: J♣6♠
The board ran out 9♥J♥6♥A♥4♣ to give Davidson two pair on the flop. Noja was eliminated from the tournament in 48th place.
Will Kassouf made it 24,000 from the hijack and Recep Aydemir three-bet to 70,000 from the small blind. Sam Greenwood was in the big blind and eyed his opponents' stacks, but decided to fold.
This was when Kassouf's patented speech play took place. Over the course of several minutes, he engaged in talks with his opponent, discussing the strength of their hands, stack depths, and the quality of Daniel Negreanu's book, among other things, before he raised to 195,000. The talk did not slow down thereafter, however, as Aydemir was thinking about the predicament he had found himself in.
Sam Greenwood had had enough and said that he would have to call the clock if Kassouf kept talking, even though he wanted to give Aydemir time to think.
Kassouf quieted down for a bit but soon started up again. ''Will you show if I fold?'' asked Aydemir.
''I can't do that, I'll reveal how I play to the whole table. This is not in any book, only the Will Kassouf book.''
''Is it an audio book?'' Jamie Nixon chimed in.
After this exchange, time was finally called. Aydemir folded his hand during the countdown and showed 10♣10♠. Kassouf allowed Aydemir to pick one card of his holding to show as well and Aydemir picked the A♠.
