Stoenescu Gets Aces to Win Battle With Normand
Level 4
: 200/400, 400 ante
Andrei Stoenescu opened to 1,000 in early position and Romain Lewis called on the button before Frederic Normand upped the price with a three-bet in the big blind. Stoenescu called and Lewis folded.
Normand continued for 2,500 on the 2♥K♠Q♠ flop and Stoenescu called. Normand sized up to 4,500 on the 3♦ turn and Stoenescu again called.
Normand slowed down with a check on the 3♦ river and Stoenescu bet 20,000 to put Normand to the test for his remaining stack of around 13,000. Normand called.
Stoenescu showed an overpair with A♦A♠ and it was good to eliminate Normand, who had a pair of queens with A♣Q♦.
