Sandev All Smiles and Ullereng All Straight

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Mats Ullereng
Mats Ullereng

Mats Ullereng raised to 800 from middle position and Georgi Sandev called in the big blind. Action went to the flop, which fell {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Sandev checked and Ullereng bet out for 1,500. Sandev called.

Both players checked on the {5-Clubs} turn. The river was the {6-Diamonds}. Sandev made a blocking bet of the minimum and looked across, smiling at his opponent. Ullereng didn't return the smile, but he did come back with a reraise to 3,000 chips, which Sandev called.

Ullereng showed down {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the rivered straight.

Delval Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Three ways to the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} river, the hijack and cutoff checked. Christophe Francois on the button bet 2,200 and Frederic Delval was the only caller. Francois forfeited the pot as he sent the cards into the muck, awarding the chips to Delval without any need to reveal his cards.

Assorted Counts in the Field

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

According to the tournament info screen, the field has grown to 641 entries of which 609 players remain. Many of those that had already registered are yet to appear, as many empty seats can be found in the tournament room.

Jakob Miegel has emerged as one of the early chip leaders and there was an all-in on his table albeit it didn't result in a call. Stephane Gabarre had three-bet to 2,100 in the cutoff and Ionut Macsim then four-bet jammed for 15,100. The initial raiser folded and Gabarre went deep into the tank before the clock was called on him, after which he folded.

Fournier Chips Up With Aggression

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

With a bet and call worth 3,500 already pulled in prior to the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} turn, Gregory Fournier bet 5,500 and Manoel Filho called. The {7-Hearts} river paired the board for the second time and Fournier fired another 7,500. This time, Filho folded and the Frenchman won the pot uncontested.

Ricci Wins One; Loses One

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Andrea Ricci check-raised a heads-up river of {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} from 1,500 to 11,000 and Ivica Malovan reluctantly folded.

One hand later, Jean Souprayenmestry opened to 800 and Ricci was the only caller. They checked the {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and Ricci check-called a bet of 1,000 on the {a-Spades} turn. The {q-Diamonds} river went check, check, and Ricci's {j-Spades}{9-Spades} was no good as Souprayenmestry won the pot with the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Set Over Set As Dijoux Takes the Pot

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Simeon Spasov raised from the button, Jean Dijoux reraised to 3,200 and Yavuz Kaya asked "how much?", before calling in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and all players checked. The turn was the {j-Clubs}. Dijoux checked and Kaya bet 2,700. Spasov got out of the way and Dijoux made the call.

The river was the {3-Hearts}. Dijoux checked again, showing caution on the draw heavy board. Kaya made it 6,400 to go and Dijoux called.

Kaya had {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a flopped set, but Dijoux had hit a higher set on the turn with his {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. That gave him a decent pot, leaving Kaya with around half the starting stack.

Pora Wins Battle of Romanians

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Sergiu Covrig raised to 1,000 and was then three-bet to 4,000 by fellow countryman Dumitru Pora. The call by Covrig led them to the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop on which both players checked before the {4-Diamonds} turn and {7-Spades} river brought no betting action either.

Pora revealed the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines and that won the pot.
