Buonanno Doubles Through Mendoza

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Antonio Buonanno
Antonio Buonanno

The cards of Jeremias Mendoza were already in the muck and he paid off a double to former EPT San Remo Main Event champion Antonio Buonanno. With the {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades} board showing, the {a-Spades}{4-Spades} of the Italian represented the nuts and he doubled for 15,500.

According to Carl Shaw on the same table, Mendoza had bet the pot on the river with pocket sevens for a set only to pay off the nut flush of Buonanno.

Dedusha Scores a Lucky Double

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Youri Jedlinski had gotten out of the way when the preflop shove by Artan Dedusha for 15,900 was looked up by David Vinayagamoorthy.

"Rebuy please," Dedusha joked as he exposed the {8-Spades}{6-Spades}. He was up against the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} of Vinayagamoorthy but somehow got there on the {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} river.

"Don't put that hand there, I will be embarrassed," the jovial Brit joked before raking in the pot.

"I folded pocket sevens, Jedlinski mentioned.

Mazerolle Eliminated by Sinnathamby

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

In a preflop flip, the remaining short stack of Hugues Mazerolle went into the middle with the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. He was up against Rabythas Sinnathamby with the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and found no help on the {10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} runout to become the next casualty in the first half of the day.

Veldhuis "Needed This One" for a Double

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

Lex Veldhuis raised to 1,100 and was called only by Michael Sklenicka from one seat over. The {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop was checked by both players and Veldhuis bet the {5-Spades} turn for 3,400 with 10,100 behind, picking up a call from Sklenicka.

Both headed to the {8-Hearts} river on which Veldhuis bet 10,000, leaving a single chip behind. Sklenicka called and mucked his {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} after he was shown the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} by the Dutchman.

"You needed this one," Sklenicka joked and Veldhuis instantly replied "no shit" with a smile on the face.

"The next time from someone else, please," Sklenicka added.
