Waki Wakes Up With Aces

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

We joined the action preflop as Espen Sandvik opened to 24,000 from the hijack. Yasuhiro Waki shoved all in on the button for 180,000 and it folded back around to Sandvik. He made the call, but was up against Waki's aces, with the Japanese at risk.

Yasuhiro Waki: AA
Espen Sandvik: 66

The 497 flop was fairly safe for Waki. The 3 on the turn, however, gave Sandvik additional outs.

But his hopes of busting aces and chipping up were extinguished as a J hit on the river.

Picking up the action on the river on a board of 105A3J with around 400,000 already in the middle, Sondre Lunde checked to Ran Shahar.

Aces Good for Fridrich

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Catalin Moraru opened the action from early position to 30,000. The only caller was Marian Fridrich in the small blind.

The flop came 8K4 and Fridrich checked it to Moraru. The Romanian led out for 16,000 but was check-raised by Fridrich to 55,000. Moraru called and they went to a turn.

It came the K and both players checked.

The 3 river sparked no further action as both players checked it down. Moraru showed 99, while Fridrich took a decent-sized pot as he tabled AA.
