Kiers Eliminated as El Yakoubi Reluctantly Calls

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Martijn Kiers
Martijn Kiers

The action folded around to Martijn Kiers on the button who jammed for his last 140,000. Mosjin El Yakoubi was in the big blind and went into the tank. "Uh, I shouldn't have looked," he said as he contemplated calling. After about 20 more seconds, he sighed as he dropped the chips across the line.

Martijn Kiers: A2
Mosjin El Yakoubi: 64

Kiers wasn't ahead for long as the flop came K65, pairing El Yakoubi's four. The 5 turn and 8 river meant Kiers' main event run was over as he was eliminated from the tournament.

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

Ramon Colillas defended his big blind versus a cutoff open to 60,000 by Piotr Wiecek and check-called a bet of 45,000 from Wiecek on the 8K4 flop.

The 5 turn was checked through by both players.

On the A river, Colillas checked to Wiecek, who slid out a bet of 165,000. Colillas quickly called.

Wiecek showed Q9 for queen-high, having missed his flush draw. Colillas showed A10 for top pair, allowing him to rake in the pot.

Excitement is building as Day 3 of the €1,100 Eureka Main Event at the 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague is scheduled to commence today, December 10, at noon local time at the Hilton Prague.

Only 125 players remain, each eyeing the lion’s share of the €4,226,880 prize pool. The winner will receive a payout of €511,710. Both figures are records for this event. Marcin Dziubdziela enters the penultimate day as the chip leader with 3,460,000, while Ercan Atmaca is the only other player bringing more than 100 big blinds to the table.

In a testament to the universal appeal of poker, 10 different nationalities are represented in the top 10 chip counts at the start of play.
