Andres Iglesias opened 3,000 in the hijack before Conor Beresford three-bet 11,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded and Iglesias made the call.
When the A♠K♦9♣ flop hit the felt, Beresford continued for 6,500, and Iglesias made the call.
The 7♠ fell on the turn, and Beresford continued for 18,000. Iglesias looked pained as he eventually pushed his cards into the muck.
After some preflop raises, Jacques Paoli got his 63,500 chips in the middle from the hijack against Iliodoros Kamatakis in the small blind.
Jacques Paoli: A♥Q♣
Iliodoros Kamatakis: A♠K♦
Paoli was a big underdog but would become a favorite on the A♦Q♠10♠ flop. His hand remained best on the 8♥10♣ runout and he raked in his new stack very eagerly.
Meanwhile, Kamatakis was left with 15,000 chips, which he would get in not much later against Elias Suhonen.
Iliodoros Kamatakis: Q♠Q♦
Elias Suhonen: K♥Q♣
No king showed its face on the J♦J♠2♠3♣A♦ board, and Kamatakis doubled up to be right back in contention. This time it was Suhonen who was left very short, with less than one big blind.
Benjamin Beekhuis opened the action to 3,500 and got two callers in Kubanychbek Abakirov and Mantas Bagocius.
The three went to the flop of 6♠10♦10♥ and Beekhuis continued for 3,500 and this time just Abakirov made the call.
The turn card was the 10♣ and this time the c-bet from Beekhuis was to the tune of 10,000 sending Abakirov into the tank but he eventually made the call.
The river was the 7♣ and both players checked. Beekhuis showed Q♠6♦ and this was the winning hand.
Radu Lungu bet 7,000 into the pot of 9,500 on the A♣K♣10♦2♦ turn, and Christopher Nguyen made the call.
When the 6♣ completed the board on the river, Lungu thought about it for a few seconds before dropping a stack of blues into the middle for a bet of 40,000. Nguyen tanked for about 30 seconds and made the call.
Lungu showed Q♥3♣, for queen-high, and Nguyen took down the pot with second pair as he showed K♦3♦.
The action started with Jakub Michalak opening to 3,500 and getting one call from Mario Krastev.
The flop came 9♠4♥6♠ and Michalak continued for 3,000 and his opponent made the call.
The turn brought the 4♠ and this time the continuation bet was 8,000 from Michalak. That sent Krastev into the tank for a few minutes then he made the fold.
Philip Skarstedt raised to 3,500 from middle position. A player in a later position exposed the K♦ as they muck their hand prelop and Adrian Strobel defended in the big blind.
Strobel check-called a bet of 4,000 from Skarstedt on a flop of 9♦K♣Q♣.
The 5♠ turn saw a repeat of the action, this time Skarstedt sized up to 15,000.
The 3♥ river saw Strobel check again. Skarstedt moved all in for Strobel's effective stack of 57,500, sending Strobel into the tank.
Strobel thought for so long the clock was eventually called. The tournament director counted down his final five seconds before Strobel decided to make the call.
Adrian Strobel: K♥10♠
Philip Skarstedt: A♥J♣
Strobel openly discussed how the exposed card made it a very difficult spot, but ultimately made the correct decision to stay alive.
There were 22,000 chips in the pot when Tiziano Di Romualdo made a bet of 4,500 from the hijack on a flop of 3♦Q♦A♠. His opponent was Marian Virlanuta in the cutoff, and he raised to 16,000.
Di Romualdo tanked for a bit before letting it go, after which Di Romualdo showed the 8♠ to the table.
