Kanme Holds

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Raoul Kanme
Raoul Kanme

Ludvig Sterner open-raised from under the gun before Raoul Kanme went all in from the cutoff for 15,000 chips. The action folded back to Sterner, who put in the call.

Raoul Kanme: 9♥9♦
Ludvig Sterner: 7♠7♥

"Oh, that's bad," Sterner noted.

"Who knows, it might be good," Kanme replied.

However, Sterner was right, at least from his perspective, as the 4♣K♠4♥5♠2♦ runout failed to bring a seven on the table. Kanme's nines held on and he doubled up to a starting stack.

Alexandridis Wins Flip to Leave Leyva with Crumbs

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Artus Gimenez Leyva opened 2,400 in the cutoff before Symeon Alexandridis piled up a mountain of chips and pushed them across the line for a raise to 30,000 in the small blind. Leyva announced all-in, and Alexandridis snap-called his stack of 40,000.

Symeon Alexandridis: 7♦7♠
Artus Gimenez Leyva: A♣K♥

It was a classic flip as the A♥8♦5♦ flop hit the felt, giving the lead to Leyva. The K♦ fell on turn for Alexandridis to pick up a flush daw, and the J♦ river completed his flush. Leyva was left with just 600 at the end of the hand, and was seen leaving the table only moments later.

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Four players saw a flop of J♦3♦4♠ being dealt. Ouri Cohen then checked from the big blind and Bernat Capdevila Montes followed suit from middle position. William Kassouf, on his second bullet, then bet out 9,500, a large portion of his stack, from the hijack.

Julien Sitbon folded his button, and Cohen relinquished his cards as well. Capdevila Montes, however, opted to put Kassouf all-in, and the latter snap called.

William Kassouf: 3♠3♣
Bernat Capdevila Montes: A♥J♥

Kassouf's set would not be beaten, as the 5♣K♠ runout left Capdevila Montes with just a pair of jacks. Kassouf more than doubled up as his rollercoaster of a Day 1 continued.
