"Really?" bemoaned Talbot as he realized he was drawing slim against Chen's premium. Nothing changed on the Q♣6♥6♦ flop and Talbot began to stand up on the 7♣. In dramatic fashion, the dealer peeled the A♥ on the river as Talbot sat back down and collected his double-up chips.

James Flushes Away Tompros' Set of Kings

Demetrios Tompros opened under the gun to 3,500. Hassam Sleiman called from the small blind and Bobby James defended his big blind.

After the action check to Tompros on the 7♣4♥K♣ flop he put out a continuation-bet of 3,500 which only James called.

The turn came a flush completing 5♣. James led out 5,500 and was met with a raise to 18,000 by Tompros. James thought it over before he raised enough to put Tompros all in. Tompros snap-called for the rest of his 25,000 and the cards were revealed.

James was ahead with his turned flush but had to fade the board pairing on the river if he was to eliminate Tompros. The 9♠ river wasn't what Tompros was looking for as his set of kings ended up second best to the flush of James.

Breccolini Spikes his Jack

Yvan Breccolini jammed for 15,500 from early position and Denis Malyshev called in the hijack before Nicolas Antouard three-bet 75,000 next to act. The action folded back around to Malyshev and he decided not to put his stack at risk as his cards hit the muck.

Breccolini was dominated but the J♥6♣5♦ flop paired his jack to give him the lead. The K♥ turn gave Antouard a gutshot straight draw but the board pairing 5♣ was no help as Breccolini pulled in the pot.

The ESPT Main Event is currently on a 25-minute break, during which the T-100 chips are being removed from play.

So far, the tournament has seen 1,732 entries, with 878 players still in contention. Late registration will close once the break ends, meaning that any player eliminated after this point will need to try their luck in the Day 1h turbo flight if they wish to re-enter the tournament.

Jean Reibibou opened to 2,600 and received a call from Laurent Vauquelin, before Seyed Sajadian produced a three-bet to 7,600 from the button. Both of his opponent called.

On the K♠Q♠2♣ flop, action was checked to Sajadian, who slid out a bet of 6,500. Only Reibibou called.

On the 6♣ turn, Rebibou changed approach and led out with a bet of 17,500. After some thinking time, Sajadian folded.

Silvio Giuliano raised from the hijack to 2,700. Michele Sanna three-bet to 7,300 out of the big blind and Guiliano made the call with 17,000 behind.

Both players checked the 5♣A♣3♣ flop to see the 6♥ come on the turn. Sanna led out for 6,000 and Giuliano instantly shoved for 17,000. Sanna snap-called.
