Thomas Lee opened for 22,000 from middle position before Quan Zhou made it 58,000 in the cutoff. Boris Angelov then jammed all in for 344,000 on the button, after which the blinds got out of the way.

Lee asked for a count but opted to fold shortly after receiving it, while Zhou committed the rest of his stack, totaling 174,000.

Zhou looked poised for another double-up, but the dreaded ace appeard on the 8A6 flop.

The 47 runout could not save him as he was sent to the rail, joining Fabiano Kovalski and Thomas Fjellheim as they were eliminated shortly before the Chinese high roller.

Last year at in Barcelona, France's Simon Wiciak defeated João Sydenstricker heads-up to win the EPT Main Event for €1,134,375.

Wiciak bested the field of 2,120 runners for the golden trophy, his first major live poker title, and the career-best seven-figure score.

The Frenchman struck a three-handed deal with Sydenstricker and Britain's Carl Shaw that flattened the payouts, and the trio played on for the trophy and an additional €108,975 in prize money.

Rehman Kassam was all in preflop with a short stack and Andrew Chen isolated from the next seat across with a raise to 100,000. The rest of the table folded and players turned their cards.

Samuel Ju had gone all in from the big blind for 56,000 and was called by Boris Angelov under the gun, Marcelo Bonanata in middle position and Thomas Lee in the cutoff.

The three active players checked through the JJJ flop and A turn before Lee folded out Angelov and Bonanata by betting 125,000 on the 3 river.

Lee tabled AQ for jacks full of aces, beating the 44 of Ju and claiming his bounty token.

Greenwood Gets Huge Double Up, Kassam Busts

Sam Greenwood raised from under the gun and Paul Lagan flatted from the next seat across. Rehman Kassam then moved all in from middle position for 48,000. Greenwood called and so did Lagan.

The flop came 39Q and Greenwood checked. Lagan fired out a bet of 25,000 and Greenwood check-raised to 70,000, which Lagan called.

The turn was the 4 and Greenwood checked again. Lagan pushed all in and Greenwood snap called, quickly flipping over A2 for the nut flush. Lagan had 77 and Kassam had JJ.

The river came the 3. Greenwood scooped a huge pot to more than double his stack, taking a chunk from Lagan and sending Kassam to the rail.
