Antoine Saout, under the gun, and Cristian David, in the hijack, had created a pot of 18,000 chips when Saout checked on the 9♠5♥6♥ flop. David bet 9,500 and Saout called.
On the 5♠ turn, David sized up to a bet of 20,500 and this time Saout check-folded his hand.
On the next deal, David raised to 3,500 in middle position and was called by Boris Angelov on the button, Antoine Labat in the small blind, and Saout in the big blind.
The action checked to David on the 6♣A♠5♥ flop, who bet another 3,500. Angelov raised it to 10,500, forcing out the blinds.
David called to see the 2♠ turn, but ultimately gave up when Angelov fired in an additional bet of 28,000 chips.
Action was on the turn on a board of 7♠Q♣3♣A♥. Cristian David put out a large bet and Boris Kolev made the call.
The river was the K♥ and David moved all in and Kolev quickly called. David flipped over 5♠5♥ for a pair of fives that he'd turned into a bluff. Kolev showed A♣K♣ for two pair, aces and kings. David was eliminated and Kolev chipped up to around 280,000.
On another table, Alessio Sardone also bit the dust.
Scott Margereson had opened the action preflop from middle position and had been called by Paul Newey in the cutoff. David D'Alessandro then made it 10,000 to go in the big blind and saw both opponents call.
D'Alessandro fired another 10,000 chips on the 2♠7♠J♦ flop, this time seeing both his opponents fold as he took down the pot.
Following an open to 3,500, Julien Sitbon called in the small blind, then Andrew Chen moved all in from the big blind with just 13,500. The original raiser folded and Sitbon reluctantly tossed in a chip to make the call. Players turned their cards, with Chen at risk.
Andrew Chen: Q♦J♦
Julien Sitbon: J♥8♠
The board ran out 3♦2♦9♥3♥8♦. The river gave Sitbon a pair of eights but also completed Chen's flush. Chen doubled up and Sitbon was left short.
Dean Lyall opened for 3,500 chips as first to act, after which Eduard Barsegian made it 11,000 to go in the next seat over. The action folded back to Lyall, who made the call for the 7♠5♠A♠ flop to emerge from the deck.
Barsegian put in 7,000 chips more, which Lyall check-called. The 4♦ turn was then checked through before the A♥ river completed the board.
Lyall checked for a third time and Barsegian put in his remaining stack of 36,000. Lyall quickly let go of his cards, shipping the pot to Barsegian uncontested.
