Ladev Applies Pressure to Maeda

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Markkos Ladev opened to 3,000 from early position and Akinobu Maeda defended his big blind.

On the K87 flop, Ladev continued for 5,500 into a pot of 8,500 and Maeda quickly called.

The turn brought the 5. Ladev kept up the pressure as he bet 11,000 and Maeda took some time before he called.

The Q peeled off on the river. Maeda checked for a third time and Ladev bet enough to put Maeda all-in for 16,500 effective. Maeda was dubious but he opted to reluctantly folded in the end as Ladev's aggression won him the pot without showdown.

Allen Makes a Tough Call For His Tournament Life

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ludvig Sterner and Michael Allen built a pot of around 50,000 as they went heads-up to a flop of 333. Sterner then bet 10,000 from the cutoff and Allen called on the button.

The 9 fell on the turn and Sterner checked. Allen then bet 8,000, Sterner raised to 28,000, and Allen called.

The river was the 9 and Sterner moved all in, having Allen's remaining 50,000 well covered. "I was going to call with ace-high," Allen said, letting out a laugh as he pondered the decision for his tournament life.

"I wish it was just like a four," he added as the minutes ticked off the clock. He eventually called with AK and let out a sigh of relief when Sterner revealed the same AK as they chopped the pot.

Shiina Okamoto

With more than 90,000 in the middle the turn read Q736 and Shiina Okamoto checked from the small blind to Enrico Camosci in the cutoff who fired 32,000. Okamoto didn't take long before making the call.

When the 3 completed the board on the river and Okamoto checked. Camosci took a couple of seconds and checked-back. Okamoto rolled KK, and that was good as Camosci mucked.

Cedolia Wheels Giudice to the Rail; Watson Picks Up Kings in a Massive Pot Against Chouity

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Giovanni Giudice moved all in for his last 70,000 from the big blind and was up against Gianluca Cedolia in the hijack.

Giovanni Giudice: QQ All in
Gianluca Cedolia: AK

Giudice's queens remained in the lead through the turn on a board of 2253, but Cedolia caught the 4 on the river to make a straight and send Giudice to the rail.

At another table, Mike Watson and Nicolas Chouity tangled in a massive pot that saw Chouity get his last 220,000 in from the hijack with ace-king offsuit. Mike Watson picked up kings in the big blind and held on to bust Chouity and build his stack up past 600,000.

No Showdown for Franchi

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Malcolm Franchi opened 4,000 in the cutoff and both Miguel Abad on the button and Sergi Miralles in the big blind made the call.

When the A72 flop hit the felt, the action checked to Abad who dropped a bet of 4,500 across the line. Miralles quickly folded, while Franchi stuck around with a call.

The K turn was checked through to see the 10 on the river, and Franchi fired 31,000 into the middle. Abad thought it over for a few moments, and decided to let his hand go.

Miracle Runout Saves Zamani

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Zamani
Martin Zamani

Umberto Ruggeri opened to 4,000 from under the gun before Martin Zamani jammed for 56,500 from the hijack. Ruggeri thought for a moment before he put in the call and the cards hit their backs.

Martin Zamani: 99 All in
Umberto Ruggeri: AQ

It was a coinflip scenario with Zamani having the slight edge. The K76 flop gave Ruggeri the nut flush and left Zamani drawing almost dead as he got up from his chair and grabbed his bag.

However, the K on the turn paired the board and gave Zamani some outs. In miraculous fashion, the K peeled off on the river, giving Zamani a full house as the table erupted at the absurdity of the runout. Zamani sat back down and collected his double as Ruggeri took a photo of the board in shock.
