Women's Event at NAPT Las Vegas Will Feature $30,000 Guarantee

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
NAPT Women's Event
NAPT Women's Event

PokerStars listened to feedback from female poker players on how to draw women to the game, and now the poker site is responding.

The upcoming PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas festival will feature a $330 buy-in Women's Event on Nov. 5. Notably, the event has a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool attached.

Last year's NAPT Women's Event had a $360 price tag and drew 94 entrants for a prize pool of $28,200. That means PokerStars is expecting this year's event to be an even greater success.

The Women's Event will get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time on Nov. 5 and allows for unlimited reentry. The event will feature 30-minute levels and will see players starting with stacks of 30,000.

Bruno Sanzoni started the action with a raise to 1,600, and Artem Kotkovskyi called from the button. Hadi Khordbin, in the small blind, decided to shove all in. The big blind, Khalil Cumsille, asked for a count, which the dealer confirmed as 21,200. Cumsille, holding 19,500, went all in as well, prompting folds from Sanzoni and Kotkovskyi, setting up a showdown.

Gungor Doubles Through Brovko

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Halil Gungor opened to 2,000 from early position and action folded to Maxim Brovko in the big blind, who shoved for his last 14,000. Gungor quickly called to put himself at risk and a showdown was held.

Maxim Brovko: AK

It was a bit of a cooler for Brovko, who was in rough shape against Gungor's aces.

The 8JJ62 runout changed nothing and Gungor doubled up.

Khordbin Quadruples Up, Tomas Snags the Side Pot

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Joao Tomas opened the action with a raise to 1,700 from the hijack, which was exactly the amount Hadi Khordbin had left on the button. Khordbin went all in, and both blinds, Khalil Cumsille and Chrysi Phiniotis, called.

After the blinds checked to him on the A78 flop, Tomas made a continuation bet of 2,500, and both Cumsille and Phiniotis called.

On the K turn, Cumsille checked, and this time Phiniotis led out with a bet of 2,500, again drawing calls from both players.

The A river prompted Phiniotis to fire a hefty 8,500 bet. Tomas took his time before shoving all in, forcing both Phiniotis and Cumsille to fold. With Khordbin all-in, it went to showdown. Tomas revealed KQ for a pair of kings, but Khordbin had A6 for trip aces, scooping the main pot. Tomas, however, claimed a solid side pot, leaving some raised eyebrows at the table.

Halil Lightens the Field

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Hassan Halil raised to 2,200 from the hijack and was called by Danielle Noja in the big blind for a heads-up pot.

Noja checked to Halil, who continued for 2,200 on the 78J flop. Noja then announced he was all-in for approximately 8,000 and Halil snap-called to put Noja at risk.

"I need a nine," Noja said upon seeing Halil's hand.

Noja had a few more outs than that, however, the Q turn and 2 river kept Halil best with his pair of jacks and Noja was eliminated.
