One of the most entertaining shows in poker is stepping it up a notch as PokerStars announced that the next season of Big Game on Tour will feature four-time Super Bowl champion and NFL star Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski.

Gronkowski, who spent 11 seasons as a tight end in the NFL and is now a sports analyst, will compete on the upcoming The Big Game on Tour season alongside the pros, Loose Cannons and sports media personality Nick Wright, whose appearance was also confirmed on Thursday.

“I’m always up for a challenge, and diving into the world of poker is going to be an amazing new adventure for me," Gronkowski said in a press release. “I’m beyond excited to play alongside some of the best in the game and tackle the high-stakes action. Just like on the football field, I’ll be bringing my competitive edge and giving it everything I’ve got at the tables.”

Florian Duta made it 1,200 from early position and Vyacheslav Shin called before Mehmet Kacar made it 3,300 from the cutoff. Konstantin Voronin cold-called from the small blind before Duta bumped it up to 12,000. Shin folded, then Kacar shoved for 53,300. Voronin quickly announced a fold and after around a minute of deliberation, Duta called.

Duta needed to find some Lady Luck to survive but didn't get any help on the 6♠5♥5♦ flop, and was left drawing dead on the A♦ turn as Kacar improved to a full house. Kacar then improved to quads on the A♣ river just for good measure, and Duta vacated his seat.

There were around 5,000 chips in the middle on a flop of 2♣8♠9♠ when Samy Khaled fired 4,500. Marle Spragg called and Okan Gursan got out of the way.

Both then checked to showdown on the 8♣7♣ runout where Spragg showed A♠5♠ for a missed flush draw, and Khaled flipped 6♠2♠ for a pair of deuces and a missed flush draw.

"Where's the spade one time?" said Spragg with a laugh.
