Pieter Theelen was dealt premiums in back-to-back hands which brought some adrenaline to the table.
First, Aleksandr Razinkov raised to 40,000 from under the gun and Theelen made it 120,000 from the next seat. When it got back to Razinkov, he shoved for around 700,000, and Theelen snap-called.
Aleksandr Razinkov: K♥K♣
Pieter Theelen: K♦K♠
Both had the same hand but Razinkov was freerolling after the flop of Q♣9♣6♣ gave him a flush draw. Luckily for Theelen, the board bricked out, coming 8♦10♥, which meant they chopped the pot.
In the very next hand, Theelen raised to 40,000 from under the gun and Tetiana Demydenko shoved for around 300,000 from middle position. When it got back to Theelen, he called.
Tetiana Demydenko: 10♠10♥
Pieter Theelen: Q♣Q♥
Theelen managed to win this one as the runout of J♥6♣9♠5♦2♠ kept his pocket queens in the lead, which sent Demydenko to the rail.
"It was such a relaxing vibe, then just all this adrenaline out of nowhere," said Theelen after the hand. "You see guys, I only play these kinds of hands," he added.
Georgios Tsouloftas and Victoria Livschitz were heads up in a pot of 295,000. Tsouloftas sat in the small blind and bet 60,000 on a flop of 10♥10♠2♥. Livschitz called to the 8♥ turn, where Tsouloftas fired an additional 115,000.
Livschitz immediately mucked her cards and the next hand was dealt.
In that hand, Ali Emre Ozcan shoved all in for 115,000 from the hijack and was called by Alexandre Reard in the small blind.
Ali Emre Ozcan: A♦2♦
Alexandre Reard: A♥10♥
Neither player paired up on the 7♦8♣J♥5♣3♦ board, leaving Reard's ace-ten high good enough to take the pot and eliminate Ozcan.
Preben Stokkan made it 40,000 from early position and Aurelie Reard shoved for 420,000 from the cutoff. Big-stacked Antonios Onoufriou then moved all in from the button, which got Stokkan to fold relatively quickly.
Aurelie Reard: 10♦10♥
Antonios Onoufriou: K♥K♠
Reard had run right into Onoufriou's cowboys and couldn't escape the lasso as the runout of 5♣A♠A♣7♦A♦ meant she was eliminated with a smaller full house.
Action was picked up on the flop of K♣4♦3♠ in a three-bet pot. Neel Murthy led for 80,000 from the small blind before Vladislav Dubanov attempted to raise from middle position.
He put in 130,000 instead of the required 160,000. The dealer informed him he needed to put in the extra, and he obliged. Murthy then moved all in. Dubanov took his time before calling.
Vladislav Dubanov: K♦Q♦
Neel Murthy: A♠J♥
The A♦ turn was an action card, giving Murthy top pair but presenting Dubanov with a flush draw. The J♦ gave Murthy two pair but Dubanov made his flush to secure a big pot.
Juan Vecino three-bet to 130,000 from the big blind after Hugo Delmaire-Sizes had made it 40,000 to go under the gun. Delmaire-Sizes called to the 2♠9♠Q♥ flop, where Vecino checked to him.
Delmaire-Sizes then bet 70,000. Vecino weighed his options but ultimately decided not to proceed further in the hand and mucked his cards.
