Dobosz Wins Battle of the Blinds

A pot of 190,000 had developed by the turn in a hand between Kamil Dobosz and Halil Gungor in the blinds, with the board reading J♦6♦2♠Q♣.

Dobosz fired out a bet of 120,000, and Gungor called.

The river brought the 10♣, and Dobosz slid out a downsized bet of 80,000.

After some thought, Gungor called, but was shown the bad news when Dobosz tabled A♣Q♥ for a pair of queens, leading to Gungor mucking his hand.

Chirap Survives, Puts Kaufmann's Stack in the Danger Zone

David Kaufmann shoved for 245,000 and Ionut Chirap called off his stack of 95,000 from the small blind.

Chirap had to win the flip to stay alive, but it didn't seem likely after the 4♣Q♣Q♥ flop, as the pocket eights of Kaufmann kept their lead.

A 9♦ on the turn added a gutshot straight draw for Chirap and some counterfeit outs, as any nine would give him two pair with a higher kicker.

Chirap stayed alive on the J♥ river as he paired his jack, which gave him a lifeline and sent Kaufmann deep into the danger zone.

Julien Arethuse opened to 40,000 from middle position. Action folded around and Neel Murthy defended the big blind.

The 7♦10♠8♠ was checked around before Murthy led the 3♥ turn for 65,000. Arethuse called. Murthy then bet around 120,000 on the J♦ river and was snap-called by Arethuse. Murthy's J♥2♥ had made top pair but Arethuse made a jack high straight with 9♦8♦ to scoop the pot.

The very next hand. Vladislav Dubanov opened from early position to 40,000. Neel Murthy moved all in for 80,000. Frederick Anastasiades then reraised out of the big blind to 150,000. Dubanov went into the tank before folding.

Anastasiades hit the case king and made a full house on the K♦7♣7♦ flop; the 6♣ turn and J♦ river cards were purely a formality.

Lyudmil Ivanov opened from the cutoff when big blind Mehdi Chaoui put in a three-bet. Ivanov called to create a pot of 280,000.

Chaoui continued for 55,000 on the K♥5♠4♥ flop and Ivanov called. Ivanov then placed a bet of 80,000 on the A♥ turn after Chaoui checked.

Chaoui called, then both checked the 10♣ river. Chaoui turned over K♦2♣ for a pair of kings but lost against the A♣Q♣ of Ivanov, who took the pot with top pair.
