Trofim Nearly Doubles Through Virlanuta

Marian Virlanuta opened to 100,000 from early position and was three-bet to 220,000 by Mihai Trofim from directly behind. Action folded back around to Virlanuta, who called.

Virlanuta check-called a 115,000 bet from Trofim on the 2♥K♦10♥ flop and then both players checked on the 10♠ turn.

The J♦ filled the river and Virlanuta checked once more, prompting Trofim to bet 755,000 — leaving himself just 5,000 behind.

Virlanuta quickly called and Trofim tabled A♣Q♥ for Broadway. Virlanuta showed he held the 10♣ and mucked to award Trofim the near double up.
