El Rais Makes the Right Call After Four-Minute Tank

With around 75,000 chips already in the pot on a board of 7♦6♦J♥9♥6♣, Mohamad El Rais had checked it over from the small blind and Diogo Coelho fired a pot-sized bet of 72,500 from the big blind. El Rais sat motionless for a while then turned his attention to Coelho and gazed for around a minute before he turned his head back to the board.

Around four minutes passed and El Rais still hadn't made a decision, so one of the players seated at the table called the clock. Before the floor even had a chance to start the countdown, El Rais had called.

Coelho sheepishly turned over 8♥4♦ for a missed straight draw that he picked up on the turn, and El Rais' pair of nines with 10♣9♠ was the winner.

On a turn of Q♠J♥A♥J♣, Andreas Tomazou checked from under the gun. Alon Huberman then bet 13,000 from middle position, which Tomazou raised to 35,000.

Huberman tossed in a call, after which the 4♠ river completed the board. Tomazou instantly went all in, covering the 99,500 of Huberman. Huberman tanked for around five minutes until Philip Joyce asked for "friendly time."

The floor was called over and determined that a friendly clock still consisted of a 30-second countdown, which is what she gave Huberman. Huberman's clock eventually reached zero and his hand was added to the muck.

Tomazou initially mucked his cards as well, but not much later decided to show his A♠A♣ for a full house.

Georgios Tsouloftas opened to 5,000 from early position, and was met with a three-bet to 30,000 by Nicolas Vayssieres in middle position, who had about 24,000 left behind.

Action folded back to Tsouloftas, who smiled and asked his opponent "Do you want to go home?", before four-betting with the covering stack. Vayssieres quickly got the rest of his chips in the middle.

Women's Event at NAPT Las Vegas Will Feature $30,000 Guarantee

PokerStars listened to feedback from female poker players on how to draw women to the game, and now the poker site is responding.

The upcoming PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas festival will feature a $330 buy-in Women's Event on Nov. 5. Notably, the event has a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool attached.

Last year's NAPT Women's Event had a $360 price tag and drew 94 entrants for a prize pool of $28,200. That means PokerStars is expecting this year's event to be an even greater success.

The Women's Event will get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time on Nov. 5 and allows for unlimited reentry. The event will feature 30-minute levels and will see players starting with stacks of 30,000.

Ivanov then shoved, which after Kurbanov got the count was confirmed to be 125,000. The Russian player had 100,000 behind and elected to preserve it, and folded his hand.
