Chen Builds Her Stack with Strategic Raises Against Gordo

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With around 70,000 in the pot and the flop showing 107K, both Philip Joyce in the small blind and Guillermo Gordo in the big blind checked to Yisha Chen, who fired a bet of 20,000. Gordo was the only one to call.

When the 9 hit the turn, Gordo led out with a bet of 30,000, but Chen raised it to 80,000, prompting a call from Gordo.

The action played out similarly on the 9 river, with Gordo betting 27,000 this time. Chen responded by raising to 200,000, enough to make Gordo fold, allowing Chen to build her stack even further.

Hassankashani Flops a Set to Send Saraniero Packing

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Arian Hassankashani
Arian Hassankashani

Santhosh Suvarna made it 25,000 to go from the hijack and Arian Hassankashani called from the cutoff before Riccardo Saraniero squeezed to 75,000 on the button. Suvarna folded, but Hassankashani called.

They went to a flop of 1054 where Hassankashani checked, and Saraniero fired 65,000. Hassankashani then picked up a stack of chips in each palm and double-handedly slid them into the middle — a raise of 185,000. Saraniero then instantly shoved for around 350,000, and Hassankashani snap-called.

Riccardo Saraniero: QQ All in
Arian Hassankashani: 44

Saraniero had the overpair, but Hassankashani had flopped a set and had control of the hand. The J on the turn did put a flush draw on board and a club on the river would see the two chop the pot, but instead the J completed the runout, which eliminated Saraniero.

Hassankashani has almost 1,500,000 in his stack and sits a few seats away from the current chip leader Bobby James.

Arian Hassankashani bet 31,000 from under the gun on a board of 8QQ3 and Santhosh Suvarna raised to 70,000 in the big blind.

Hassankashani called to the 8 river where Suvarna moved all in for 110,000. Hassankashani called and Suvarna showed Q8 for a full house. Hassankashani also flashed an eight before handing over the double up.

At the same time on another table, Sebastian Malec bet 43,000 from the cutoff on a board of 4K310 and Istvan Toth moved all in for 110,000 in the big blind. Malec called with Q10 for a pair of tens, but Toth had K9 for kings.

The river was the A and Toth doubled up off the EPT champion.

Peeks Gets Paid

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Roeland Peeks
Roeland Peeks

Andriy Lyubovetskiy opened to 20,000 in early position, and received calls from Roeland Peeks on the button and Nicolas Chouity in the big blind.

On the AA2 flop, action was checked to Peeks, who fired out a bet of 15,000. Only Chouity called.

The 7 rolled off on the turn, and Chouity check-called a bet of 120,000 from Peeks.

The 10 river completed the board, and Chouity checked once more. Peeks thought for a bit before sliding out a bet of 300,000, and Chouity immediately blew out his cheeks and leaned back in his chair, hand on his head.

He thought for a while, and ultimately made the call, but was given the bad news when Peeks revealed 22 for the flopped full house, sending him a chunky pot.

Lijo Down-Bets the River

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With around 100,000 chips already in the middle on a board of 566J, Lander Lijo fired 70,000 from the big blind and Darius Gadeikis called on the button.

A 7 landed on the river and after using some extra time, Lijo downsized with a bet of 47,000. Gadeikis was thinking for a while and with only 200,000 behind, he elected to preserve his precious chips and folded.

Kraous Doubles Up Against Kuznetsov

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Anton Kraous opened the action with a raise to 20,000 from the cutoff. In the big blind, Nikita Kuznetsov asked how much Kraous had left, and after hearing it was around 200,000, Kuznetsov went all in. Kraous quickly made the call.

Anton Kraous: KJAll in
Nikita Kuznetsov: 44

Kraous got the crucial king he needed on the flop, which came 6AK. Kuznetsov was hoping for another heart or a four, but the A on the turn and the 2 on the river didn’t help. Kraous secured the double-up, leaving Kuznetsov short-stacked with about 17 big blinds.
