Tony G Calls Out Phil Hellmuth | Life Outside Poker Podcast

Life Outside Poker w/ Connor Richards is a new podcast for PokerNews that focuses on poker players with successful careers and lives outside of poker.

For the third episode, Connor spoke with high-stakes poker player, politician and entrepreneur Antanas "Tony G" Guoga. In the interview, Tony G spoke about growing up in Lithuania, founding PokerNews in the early 2000s, getting into European politics later in life and his favorite televised poker moments.

He also opened up about clashing with players like Phil Hellmuth in televised games and even issued a heads-up challenge to the Poker Brat. Will Hellmuth take him on, or is he, like Tony G said, "afraid to ever play me again?"

The 3♠8♠2♠ flop checked through to the 5♣ on the turn. Both players checked again to reveal the A♦ river. Oya took the lead for a sizeable 75,000. Shylko used all his remaining time banks before making the call. Oya tabled 4♥2♥ for a straight, forcing Shylko to muck his cards.

On the 3♥4♦9♣ flop, Puetz check-raised to 64,000 versus a bet of 20,000 from Mokri. Mokri thought it through and bumped it up to 105,000, leading to a fold from Puetz.

Badziakouski checked on the Q♣3♦6♥ flop. Nemeth put him all in for his last 50,000 and Badziakouski snap-called.

The 10♠ turn and K♠ river changed nothing and Badziakouski doubled up.

Action was folded to Samuel Ju in the small blind, who raised to 35,000. Andras Nemeth called in the big blind.

On the K♣5♣9♠ flop, Ju continued with a bet of 25,000 and Nemeth called.

The 5♥ rolled off on the turn to pair the board, and Ju checked. Nemeth put out a bet of 65,000 and Ju called.

The Q♥ river completed the board and Ju checked once more. Nemeth wasn't prepared to slow down, and slid out a bet of 225,000, the vast majority of Ju's remaining stack.

After a great deal of thought, and burning through two time banks, Ju flicked in a calling chip, only to be shown the bad news when Nemeth turned over 5♠4♠ for the turned trip fives. Ju mucked his hand and Nemeth raked in a big pot.

Daniel Rezaei opened to 20,000 and was called by Masashi Oya and Eric Sfez in the blinds.

The J♦9♣9♦ flop was checked to Rezaei, who slid out a bet of 20,000. Oya then check-raised to 60,000, Sfez folded and Rezaei called.

On the K♣ turn, Oya fired again, putting out a bet of 65,000. Rezaei again called.

The 2♣ river completed the board, and Oya fired out a bet of 280,000.

Rezaei went deep into the tank, burning through six time banks before eventually folding, claiming he had queen-jack.

The bubble still hasn't burst in the High Roller as the shorter stacked players attempt to cautiously crawl their way into the money.

Small pots are still being played. In one such hand, Daniel Rezaei raised from early position and Sergey Lebedev called in late position.

The flop came 8♠7♥9♦. Rezaei checked, Lebedev bet 15,000 and Rezaei called. Both players then checked it back on the 7♦ turn.

The river came the 9♠ and Rezaei switched to a lead for 85,000. Lebedev went into the tank and then folded his hand to give Rezaei the pot.
