Gieles Doubles Through Israel
Andrej Desset just lost a bigger pot when he check-folded the K♥Q♠2♣ flop to a bet worth 4,000 by table neighbour Nemo Israel. He opened to 700 next and Andreas Putz defended the big blind only to snap-fold the Q♦Q♣2♦ flop when Desset had barely put his continuation bet in.
Desset raised to 700 once more in the very next hand. Israel called before Pim Gieles three-bet to 3,000 in the next seat. Only Israel called and check-called for 2,800 on the J♦9♥4♦ flop. Gieles bet another 7,000 when checked to by Israel on the 3♥ turn to pick up a call and then faced the shove by Israel on the 6♦ river.
Gieles had 15,200 behind and called all-in to get shown the K♥Q♥ for a busted straight and flush draw, which he had beat with the Q♦Q♠ to score the double.
