Estrada Smashes an Eight to Stay Alive
Level 11
: Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Alexis Andre opened 3,000 in the hijack before Victor Fryda three-bet 12,000 in the small blind. Soraya Estrada was in the big blind and paused for a moment before shoving her stack of 17,500 across the line. Andre quickly got out of the way, while Fryda dropped a chip across the line to make the call.
Soraya Estrada: 8♠8♥
Victor Fryda: Q♣Q♦
Estrada was dominated but the 8♦6♠3♣ flop gave her the lead with a set of eights. The J♥ turn and 4♦ river meant she could remain seated as she pulled in the double-up.
