Simons Joins the Big Stacks

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Thibault Borniche in the under-the-gun position check-called a bet worth 3,900 by Bobby Simons on the K44A turn and then checked again the 10 on the river. Simons sized up to 13,800 and Borniche quickly grabbed calling chips before mulling it over for another few seconds.

Ultimately, the call followed within half a minute and Simons showed the 64 for flopped trips to win the pot. He pulled further ahead of Abhinav Iyer, who can be found on the other side of the dealer on the very same table.

Bayrak Hits the Turn to Eliminate Rona

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Ali Bayrak opened 2,300 before Gergely Rona three-bet to 7,000 in the cutoff. The action quickly folded back to Bayrak and he made the call.

The dealer fanned a flop of J73 and, once checked to, Rona continued for 4,000. Bayrak check-raised by dropping a stack of about 60,000 across the line and Rona instantly called off his remaining chips of about 40,000.

Gergely Rona: KK
Ali Bayrak: AJ

Rona was in the lead with a pair of kings, but the A turn gave Bayrak two pair. Rona was unable to find one of the remaining kings as the Q completed the board, eliminating Rona from the tournament.
