Calamusa Gets Paid; Spragg Out

Pierre Calamusa opened to 1,200 from early position and was called by Alexandre Le Vaillant in the cutoff and Benjamin Spragg in the big blind.

All three players checked on the 8♦4♠3♠ flop and Spragg led out for 1,600 on the 3♥ turn. Both Calamusa and Le Vaillant called.

The 7♣ completed the board and Spragg bet 3,300. Calamusa thought for a while and raised to 12,000, which got a fold from Le Vaillant and a call from Spragg.

Calamusa showed Q♣8♣ for eights and treys and Spragg mucked.

On the very next hand, Calamusa and Spragg got into a preflop raising war that ended with Spragg all in. Spragg held pocket kings against Calamusa's ace-four, but an ace fell on the river — eliminating Spragg from the tournament.

Action folded around to Gijsbertina Van De Steeg in the small blind who called. Andras Balogh checked his option.

Van De Steeg led out on the 5♠4♦3♦ flop for 1,000. Balogh made the call. The 9♥ turn brought another barrel from Van De Steeg, this time for 2,100. Balogh called once again. Van De Steeg slowed down on the flush-completing 8♦ river and checked to Balogh.

Balogh put in a sizeable bet of 5,600. Van De Steeg tanked for a moment before flicking in the call. Balogh announced "you win," before tabling 10♦6♥ for ten high. Van De Steeg showed K♦5♣ for third pair and scooped the pot.

Both players checked on 4♦9♦Q♣ flop and Bernardino overbet the pot for 3,500 after the K♣ came on the turn. Roman called.

Bernardino fired 7,500 into the middle after the 2♠ completed the board and Roman again called.

Bernardino tabled K♦J♠ for a pair of kings, but they were no good against Roman's Q♥4♥ for a flopped two pair and he collected the pot.
