Alt Picks Off Nguyen

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Dinesh Alt opened to 1,000 on the button and found one caller in Hoa Nguyen in the big blind.

Nguyen check-called an 800 bet from Alt on the 3KQ flop and then both players checked on the J turn.

The 7 completed the board and Nguyen led out for 3,500. Alt called after a bit of thought and Nguyen tabled A8 for just ace-high. Alt showed he held AQ for a pair of queens and collected the pot.

Shahar Deals Final Blow to Ritter

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

It remains unclear when the chips went in but Uwe Ritter was left with the head shaking as he exited the tournament area. The cards were still showing as Ritter's J2 had flopped a flush draw. However, there was no further heart on the Q9497 runout and that kept the AA of Ran Shahar ahead.

Shahar and Simon Lofberg are the two early chip leaders on this table.

Vrakas Shoves the River

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Leon Zeaiter limped from middle position and Nohad Teliani raised to 1,000 from the hijack. Georgios Vrakas then three-bet to 2,600 on the button, which got a fold from Zeaiter and a call from Teliani.

Both players checked on the 910A flop and Teliani led out for 2,500 on the 6 turn. Vrakas called.

Teliani put 4,500 into the middle on the J river and Vrakas tanked a bit before announcing he was all in, which was enough to put Teliani all in for her last 10,000.

Teliani thought better of it and let her hand go — awarding the pot to Vrakas.

A bigger pot was brewing over on Table 19 when Brazil's Ricardo Loyola de Souza bet the A86KQ river for 12,000. Liviu Bartha then moved all in and the Brazilian went into a brief tank, then sighed and folded.

Abud Gets Some Much-Needed Chips

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Laurent Chenet had already opened from under the gun and was called by Sajad Abud in the hijack. Grzegorz Kozieja then squeezed to 2,500 from the cutoff and both Chenet and Abud called.

Action checked through on the 564 flop and Laurent checked again on the 3 turn. Abud bet 2,500, which got a call from Kozieja and a fold from Laurent.

The 8 completed the board and Abud shoved for his last 5,000. Kozieja studied Abud carefully while he tanked and eventually decided to lay his hand down — conceding the pot to Abud.
