Neugebauer Rivered to the Rail by Barer

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Max Neugebauer
Max Neugebauer

Ami Barer raised to 16,000 from an early position with the K9 and table short stack Max Neugebauer defended the big blind with the Q5. The Q104 flop gave Neugebauer top pair and he checked, Barer bet 9,000.

Neugebauer check-raised to 22,000 and earned a call from Barer. The 6 followed on the turn and Neugebauer only had 34,000 behind, which he moved into the middle. Barer visibly went through the possible combinations, shook his head and called.

Only a king or jack could knock out Neugebauer and the J river ended his run on the new feature table right after coming back from the break.

Greenwood Bombs the River

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Sam Greenwood opened to 16,000 from early position and was three-bet to 42,000 by Boris Angelov in the cutoff. Action folded back to Greenwood, who called.

Greenwood check-called a 26,000 bet from Angelov on the 365 flop and then both players checked on the J turn.

Angelov thought better of it and folded.

"Did you have pocket jacks?" Angelov inquired.

"I can't tell you every time," Greenwood replied. "Maybe pocket deuces."

"You always have a pocket," Angelov said as Greenwood collected the pot.
