Day 1A Chip Leader

Polek Extends His Lead

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Alexandre Guibon opened to 6,500 from under the gun and was three-bet to 18,000 by Adam Polek in the hijack. Action folded back around to Guibon, who called.

Guibon check-called a 10,000 bet from Polek on the 6A2 flop and then both players checked on the 7 turn.

The 9 completed the board and Guibon check-folded facing a 35,000 bet from Polek, who collected the pot without showing.

Margereson on the Wrong Side of a Cooler, Joyce Doubles

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Philip Joyce
Philip Joyce

Allah Atf opened from middle position to 6,500 and Scott Margereson three-bet the cutoff to 17,000. Philip Joyce took his time then four-bet to 29,000 from the big blind. Atf quickly folded, Margereson shoved, and Joyce snap-called for his stack of 70,000.

Philip Joyce: AA All in
Scott Margereson: AK

Joyce had the goods and improved to the nut flush on the 28259 runout, which secured him a double-up as the bubble starts to loom closer.

Spragg Gets Counterfeited to Bust

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Sofianos Vergitsis opened to 6,000 from middle position and Markus Wellen called from the small blind. Marle Spragg shoved for her last 12,500 from the big blind and Vergitsis called. Wellen then back-raised all in and Vergitsis got out of the way.

Marle Spragg: 66All in
Markus Wellen: AK

It was a fair fight, but the Q8877 runout counterfeited Spragg's pair — leaving Wellen best with his ace-kicker.

"I knew it was coming the hard way," Spragg said. "Good luck."

Dubonnet Takes a Small Pot; Vogel Nowhere to be Seen

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Patrick Rudau opened from the button and Samy Dubonnet defended his big blind.

On the flop of A3K, Dubonnet check-called a bet of 5,000 from Rudau. The A paired the board on the turn and both players checked.

On the 5 river, Dubonnet put out a small bet of 4,000, and Rudau didn't want to be involved anymore so let his hand go.

Markus Vogel's stack is also on the same table, but the man himself is nowhere to be seen. Earlier, Vogel was talking to the floor about the duration of the day and that he was unaware the day would go on so long, so perhaps he has already left for the night. With a stack of around 210,000, there's a chance he will sneak into the money by not playing, but how much of it will be left?

Joyce Gives One Up

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

There were around 23,000 chips in the pot between Philip Joyce in the small blind and Jiri Havlena in the big blind on a flop of A74, when Joyce made a bet of 6,000, and Havlena called.

A K landed on the turn where Joyce slowed down with a check, and Havlena fired 18,500. After thinking it over, Joyce elected to give it up, and Havlena scooped in a small pot.

Rama Prema: 1010All in
Krzysztof Krawczyk: AK

The J84 flop and J turn came safe for Prema, but the A river paired Krawczyk's ace to end Prema's run in dramatic fashion.
