Action folded to Eduard Rau in the small blind, who completed. Marek Oubrecht was in the big blind, and he jammed for around 500,000, with Rau making the quick call with the covering stack.
Marek Oubrecht: A♥Q♠
Eduard Rau: A♦K♣
In a blind on blind cooler, Rau had Oubrecht pipped and the king kicker played as both players missed the 7♦5♠2♣9♥7♣ runout.
Jakub Sterba opened to 85,000 on the button and was called by Jenya Gavrilovich in the small blind for a heads-up pot.
Gavrilovich led out for 40,000 on the J♠A♥6♥ flop and Sterba called.
The 8♦ fell on the turn and Gavrilovich increased his wager to 125,000. Sterba again called.
Gavrilovich slowed down and checked after the 10♣ completed the board and Sterba announced he was all in, which was enough to put Gavrilovich all in for his last 650,000.
Gavrilovich went deep into the tank, but eventually landed on a fold and Sterba collected the pot.
An all-in and call situation occurred on Table 4 with Lykourgos Kalogerakis in the big blind at risk for 215,000 against Jordan Hoebe in middle position.
Lykourgos Kalogerakis: A♣10♣
Jordan Hoebe: A♦Q♦
The board of 6♠8♠9♥4♥K♣ was no help for Kalogerakis, who was eliminated.
Lykourgos Kalogerakis opened to 75,000 from the cutoff and Jesper Hansen shoved for his last 305,000 from the small blind. Just behind him, Jordan Hoebe also went all in for 435,000 from the big blind and Kalogerakis called after a lengthy tank to put both players at risk.
Jesper Hansen: K♠K♣
Jordan Hoebe: Q♥Q♠
Lykourgos Kalogerakis: J♠J♥
"Nothing funny, dealer!" Hansen requested.
The board came A♥6♣10♥3♦7♣ — keeping Hansen's kings best to award him the triple up while Hoebe claimed a small side pot.
Lars Sommer opened to 70,000 under the gun, and was faced with a three-bet jam by Simon Welsch to 345,000. Action folded back to Sommer, who made the quick call.
Simon Welsch: 9♣9♠
Lars Sommer: Q♣Q♦
Welsch was in trouble, and seemed to be heading for the exit after the runout came K♦7♣6♠6♦. After the turn hit, Welsch moved back in his chair preparing to exit, but the 9♦ rolled off on the river to give him a set and keep him in the running, much to his surprise and delight.
Kasper Mellanen opened to 60,000 from middle position and was three-bet to 155,000 by Matthew Micallef on the button. It was folded back to Mellanen, who verified the amount before sticking in a four-bet to 400,000 total. Micallef called.
Micallef called a 300,000 bet from Mellanen on the 6♦J♦7♣ flop and then bet 575,000 after being checked to on the 5♥ turn.
Mellanen announced he was all in and Micallef let his hand go — conceding the massive pot to Mellanen.
Birger Larsen opened to 60,000 from the cutoff, before being faced with a three-bet to 250,000 from Adrian Cazacu in the small blind.
Larsen responded with a four-bet jam to 970,000, and Cazacu, who had about 1,800,000 behind, went into the tank. After about 90 seconds he made the call.
Cazacu flipped over K♦Q♦, and as he did so Larsen got out of his chair, rubbed his cards for luck, and flipped pocket nines.
Birger Larsen: 9♦9♠
Adrian Cazacu: K♦Q♦
Larsen was ahead in a flip but the 10♦6♦4♥ flop spelt danger, Cazacu picking up a flush draw.
The J♠ turn was about the best card Cazacu could ask for without hitting anything, giving him an up and down straight draw as well.
Larsen now had to dodge a significant amount of outs, and when the brick 10♥ river hit, he celebrated wildly, pumping his fist, shouting "Yes" and heading over to the rail to hug a friend.
