The action picked up on a flop of A♥J♥7♦. Both Shalev Halfa and Markus Vogel checked, and Grigorios Chrysovergis bet 3,000. Halfa folded, while Vogel took his time before putting out a check-raise to 13,400. Chrysovergis cut out calling chips but eventually announced all in, and Vogel called.
Grigorios Chrysovergis: A♠Q♥
Markus Vogel: A♦K♥
Chrysovergis had kicker problems, and the A♣10♦ runout didn't improve his hand, leading to his early elimination from the tournament.
The pot had grown to around 11,000 with two players navigating a full board of Q♦2♠3♦3♥J♦.
Komil Khamidov, in the hijack, checked the action to Gary Mamou, in the cutoff. Mamou bet out 7,900. Khamidov made a quick call. Mamou rolled over Q♣3♣ for a full house, earning him this sizable pot.
Isabella Costa opened from the cutoff to 600. Emmanouil Vagianos called on the button and Mark Helou defended the big blind.
Helou checked the 9♦8♦6♠ flop to Costa who bet 1,500. Vagianos called and Helou folded. The 9♠ was checked around before Costa led the 7♥ turn for 2,500. Vagianos took a moment before folding.
The pot had grown to around 6,000 with three players looking at a board of 9♦10♠5♣6♦.
The big blind checked the action to Sebastian Trela, who was under the gun. Trela bet out 2,600. Marcin Puczylowski, in early position, called and the big blind folded.
The 4♣ river saw Trela size up to 5,700 and Puczylowski made a reluctant call. Trela tabled K♦K♠, winning him this pot.
Evangelos Bechrakis opened from under the gun to 600. Matteo Cecchetti called in the cutoff.
Bechrakis check-called a bet of 1,500 on the flop of K♥7♦J♣. The Q♣ turn was checked around, as was the A♦ river. Bechrakis showed A♥2♥ but was bested by the A♠J♦ of Cecchetti who rivered two pair.
Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 21st episode, Connor speaks with Survivor legend Boston Rob, aka Rob Mariano, about growing up near Fenway Park, learning poker at the age of 6, studying psychology at Boston University, applying for Survivor and winning Season 22, his recent appearance on Deal or No Deal Island and filming an upcoming season of The Traitors.
Boston Rob also revealed a story about Costa Rican authorities raiding a mansion known to host high-stakes poker games during a 2006 filming that included Daniel Negreanu, Josh Arieh, David Williams, Michael Mizrachi and actress Cheryl Hines.
"(Gambling mogul) Calvin (Ayre) had a big party at the house, and they came in guns drawn," he said. "And we were fine, but we all had to stay at the party until they checked our passports and everything. I think it was a little bit of a shakedown. But we had a good weekend."
Sebastien Compte opened with a min-raise from the button, and Hristian Panchev put out a three-bet to 1,600 from the small blind. Both Thierry Gogniat in the big blind and Compte called.
The flop came 9♥J♠10♦, and Panchev made a continuation bet of 2,000, which only Gogniat called.
The turn brought the A♥, and Panchev kept up the aggression, betting 5,000. Gogniat took some time but ultimately folded, giving Panchev the pot.
