Gherghe Eliminates Vican in the First Hand

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante
Razvan Gherghe
Razvan Gherghe

The first hand of the main event at Table 34 escalated quickly. With approximately 5,000 already in the middle, the action picked up on a flop of 3J8.

Michael Sklenicka led out with a bet of 2,100, and Ivan Vican made the call. Razvan Gherghe then raised to 7,200 and got a call from Sklenicka. When the action returned to Vican, he announced all in for 25,000.

Gherghe tanked for a while but eventually moved all in over the top, leaving Sklenicka with a tough decision. After deliberating, Sklenicka folded, saying he had 910.

Ivan Vican: AQ All in
Razvan Gherghe: JJ

Vican needed to dodge the board pairing to survive. The 6 on the turn kept him alive, but the river 8 gave Gherghe a full house, eliminating Vican.

River Chaos as Mitrovic Accidentally Shows His Hand

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Paawan Bansal
Paawan Bansal

A highly unusual situation just unfolded at Table #11 during a hand between Paawan Bansal and Hrvoje Mitrovic.

According to the action recounted to PokerNews, the player on the button opened the betting, Mitrovic called from the small blind, and Bansal three-bet from the big blind. The button folded, and Mitrovic called to see a flop.

The flop came down 2J4, and Mitrovic check-called a continuation bet from Bansal. When the A appeared on the turn, Mitrovic again check-called, this time for 2,700.

The river brought the 10, and Mitrovic immediately moved all-in for roughly 23,000 — about twice the size of the pot — igniting drama at the table.

"What are you doing to me here?" Bansal asked. "Will you show if I fold?"

Mitrovic, who had been covering his cards with both hands since shoving, inadvertently revealed his holdings — K8 — as he fumbled his cards momentarily. With that information in hand, Bansal declared, "Sorry, I have to call."

"This is sick," remarked Mitrovic as he turned over his cards officially. Bansal revealed 43 for a pair of fours, enough to scoop the pot in this extraordinary hand.

"Sorry man, you either had king-queen or nothing, I wanted to call," Bansal finished with.

Fossa Busts to Yurkiv's Aces

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Fossa Giovana Hiratomi
Fossa Giovana Hiratomi

Action was on the flop on a board of 2J7 with around 14,000 in the pot. Roman Yurkiv fired out a bet of 4,000 from the small blind and Giovana Hiratomi Fossa called on the button.

The turn was the J and Yurkic went again with a bet of 5,500, which Fossa called. On the 8 river, Yurkiv pushed out 15,000, putting his opponent all in. Fossa had been holding her chips, but placed them back on the table and went firmly into the tank, occassionally glancing across at her opponent to try to get a read.

After a long pause, she placed her chips in the middle to make the call for her remaining 11,500. Yurkiv turned over AA for two pair, aces and jacks. Fossa had 99 and was eliminated.

Denti Back-Raises Light, Ievchenko Benefits

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Julien Sitbon opened to 500 and got a call from Jacopo Denti in the next seat. Oleksii Ievchenko then three-bet to 2,200, which got Sitbon to fold, but Denti back-raised all-in for 12,700. Ievchenko snap-called.

Jacopo Denti: 33 All in
Oleksii Ievchenko: QQ

Even the suits of Denti were covered by the superior hand of Ievchenko, and the 9J10 flop gave the Ukrainian player an open-ended straight draw. A 7 on the turn eliminated any slim hope of a chop, and the 7 river confirmed Denti's departure.

A Set of Jacks Sends Schwaederle Packing

Cedric Schwaederle
Cedric Schwaederle

Nikita Kuznetcov set the stage with an under-the-gun raise to 700, quickly finding a caller in [Removed:548] on the button. Cedric Schwaederle upped the ante from the small blind, three-betting to 2,800. After some deliberation and a glance at his opponents’ stacks, Phil Gross made the call from the big blind. When the action circled back to Kuznetcov, he wasted no time shoving his entire 28,600-chip stack into the middle.

[Removed:549] bowed out, but Schwaederle called for his remaining 18,600, putting the pressure squarely on Gross. With both players covered, Gross decided to take his chances and called, sending the pot to a three-way showdown:

Cedric Schwaederle: KKAll in
Nikita Kuznetcov: JJAll in
Phil Gross: QJ

The flop came 634, leaving Schwaederle's kings in the lead.

However, the turn brought the J, completing a set for Kuznetcov and flipping the script.

Schwaederle still had outs for a river king, but the 8 fell instead, sealing the massive pot for Kuznetcov. Schwaederle’s tournament run came to an abrupt end, while Gross saw his gamble fall short.

Golczyk’s Rivered Set Isn’t Enough

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Lukasz Golczyk min-raised from the cutoff, and Milos Dzakic responded with a three-bet from the small blind. The action went quickly as Golczyk four-bet all in, and Dzakic snap-called.

Lukasz Golczyk: 99 All in
Milos Dzakic: QQ

Golczyk needed a nine to stay alive in the tournament, but the flop J510 didn’t provide any help. The turn was the 8, which gave him an open-ended straight draw but also gave Dzakic a flush draw.

The dealer completed the board with the 9, which gave Golczyk a set. However, it wasn’t enough against Dzakic’s straight, and Golczyk was eliminated from the tournament.
