Charlton on the Charge
The action kicked off with a raise from the under-the-gun player to 2,000. The player in the cutoff called, and Christophe Panetti called from the small blind. Daniel Charlton then elected to three-bet to 9,000, which shook out the initial raiser, but both of the callers called again.
The dealer then spread a 2♥8♠A♠ flop, and Charlton continued for 6,000. The player in the cutoff folded, but Panetti called again.
Both players checked on the Q♣ turn as the cutoff player stood up from his seat, looking slightly unhappy.
The river then brought the K♠, and when Panetti checked for a third time, Charlton moved a tower of chips into the middle, asking Panetti to risk his remaining stack of 11,200. Panetti was unwilling to do that and returned his cards to the dealer.
In a show of kindness, Charlton flipped his cards over, revealing he had rivered a set with his K♣K♥. The player in the cutoff then said that he had folded QxQx.
