His opponent, Ludvig Sterner in early position, took a moment to think before making the call. Corbel then revealed J♥8♠ for quads, taking down the pot without needing to see Sterner’s cards.

Erik Lindqwist opened to 1,700 under the gun, seeing Eduardo Lopes call in the cutoff. Scott Margereson, who won the PokerStars Open yesterday for €423,700, defended his big blind, after which the trio checked through the 7♥2♣4♠ flop and the Q♥ turn.

The Q♦ then fell on the river. Margereson led out for 4,800, to which Lindqwist folded after some thought. Lopes tossed in a quick call, but he too mucked his cards when Margereson showed Q♠8♠ for trips.

The action checked to Pertea on the 6♣6♦J♦ flop, who bet 2,800. With Molenaar out of the way, Rubiralta responded with a raise to 6,500, and Pertea made the call.

Both players checked the 4♣ turn before Rubiralta fired 6,000 on the Q♦ river. Pertea made the call, but Rubiralta revealed A♦A♣ for aces-up, enough to scoop the pot.

The K♦ turn was then added to the board. Once again, Sidoti checked, and once again Ricoy placed a bet of 1,700. This time, Sidoti waved the white flag, returning his cards to the dealer and surrendering the pot.

Erwann Pecheux raised to 1,700 in the hijack, which button Andrea Cortellazzi bumped up to 5,300. Once it had folded back to Pecheux, he moved all in for 31,800.

Cortellazzi had some difficulty with his decision, spending about three minutes in the tank before the clock was called. Near the end of his countdown, he flicked in a few calling chips to put his opponent at risk.

Cortellazzi's courage was rewarded when the Q♦Q♥10♦8♥7♦ runout missed Pecheux's ace-king and eliminated him from the Main Event.

Over at another table, Enrique Llorens raised to 1,600 in the hijack and saw Laurent Cessy three-bet to 4,500 on the button. Llorens quickly called.

Llorens then check-called Cessy's bet of 7,000 on the 9♦8♠8♣ flop, both players checked the 3♠ turn, and Llorens shoved all in on the 6♠ river within a span of 30 seconds. Cessy found a swift fold, leaving himself with just over 15 big blinds.
