Pardo Building a Big Stack

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The action was joined as middle position player Jorge Ufano Pardo was facing a three-bet from Simon Wiciak in the cutoff. Pardo responded with a four-bet to 20,500, which Wiciak called.

The dealer spread a K7K flop, and Pardo continued for 10,000. Again, Wiciak called.

Pardo then opted to slow down on the 8 turn, check-calling after Wiciak put 13,500 into the middle.

The river 4 saw Pardo check once more, and Wiciak snap-checked behind him.

Pardo flipped over AA, which proved to be the winning hand when Wiciak revealed his QQ.

Chevalier Gets Trembaly Off Best Hand

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a pot worth 43,500, Pierre Chevalier moved all in from the big blind on a completed board of 6JK93. Alexis Tremblay went deep into the tank on the button, being covered for his stack of 33,100.

The duo engaged in plenty of table talk during the next five minutes, during which Tremblay claimed to have two pair, and Chevalier suggested his opponent should fold such a holding.

Eventually, the clock was called on Tremblay. He let his timer run out, making his hand an automatic fold.

Upon Chris Da-Silva's insistence, Chevalier showed K8 to the table, a naked top pair, much to the frustration of Tremblay.

Back-to-Back Jacks for Charlton

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Three-way to the 1059 flop, it checked to Alexandre Raymond in early position, who placed a bet of 6,000. Daniel Charlton called in the small blind, as did Andrea Melluzzo in the big blind.

The 7 turn was checked by the trio before Charlton bet 12,500 on the 3 river. After a quick fold from Melluzzo, Raymond snap-called.

Charlton turned over JJ, taking down the pot as Raymond mucked what he claimed was ace-ten.

The next hand, Raymond made it 2,500 under the gun. Charlton three-bet to 7,500, which Raymond reraised to 17,000. Charlton folded his JJ face-up, sharing a chuckle with his opponent.

Candido Cappiello
Candido Cappiello

The pot was already around 130,000 with the board fully fanned out 3K857. Ferdinand Janssen was all-in first to act for 43,000. Candido Cappiello, slightly shorter, took a long time in the tank before finally making the call.

At showdown, Janssen tabled AA for an overpair, while Cappiello had A8 for a missed flush draw and just a pair of eights. That ended Cappiello’s run, and Janssen stacked a healthy pot to continue in the tournament.
