Sitbon Hits the Tank and Correctly Calls

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action was on the river on a board of 810KJ6 and Julien Sitbon was deep in the tank against an all-in.

A player at the table came over to recount the action and said that after a raise and call preflop, the action had checked down on the flop and turn. There was around 17,000 in the pot and Sitbon had led out with a bet of 8,500 and Paul Jabbari moved all in for 33,000.

Sitbon had apparently been in the tank for around seven minutes. Time was called and the floor gave Sitbon 30 seconds to act. The time was down to the last few seconds before Sitbon plonked his chips in the middle.

Jabbari showed AJ for a pair of jacks and missed flush draw. Sitbon, clearly relieved, turned over KJ for two pair to win the pot, sending Jabbari to the rail.

Sitbon apologized for taking so long, and discussed the possibilities with the table, stating that his opponent could have had a straight. In any case, he scooped in the chips and Jabbari left.

Oya Spikes the Turn to Bust Kulev; Stand-Up Trick Works For Duta

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Masashi Oya
Masashi Oya

Masashi Oya and Alex Kulev were heads-up on a flop of 425 with around 13,000 in the pot when Kulev got his last 20,000 in the middle from the small blind, and Oya put him at risk from middle position.

Alex Kulev: AA All in
Masashi Oya: 76

Kulev was ahead with his aces, while Oya was chasing a straight draw. The 8 turn gave Oya his straight and Kulev was already drawing dead before the 9 river, and on his way to the exit.

At the same time at another table, Florian Duta was all in for 15,200 from the big blind and up against Dmitrii Prusov in the hijack.

Florian Duta: 22 All in
Dmitrii Prusov: A3

Prusov hit a pair on the J37 flop to take the lead, while the turn came the 9. Duta was down to just two outs and already standing up from his seat, but the 2 spiked on the river to give him a set and a miracle double up.

"Stand-up works every time," Duta said, sitting back down.
