Cristiani Fills Up to Double Off Kokhestani

Jean-Marc Cristiani and Khossein Kokhestani went heads-up to a flop of A♣K♣10♣ where Cristiani got his last 550,000 in from the button and Kokhestani put him at risk in the big blind.

Cristiani showed two pair, but Kokhestani had flopped a flush and was poised for the knockout until the K♥ fell on the turn, improving Cristiani to a full house. The river was the 10♥ and Cristiani doubled up.

La [Removed:534] then bet 150,000 and Malec used two time banks before calling. The river was the J♦ and La [Removed:534] bet 325,000, leaving himself around 60,000 behind.

Malec again went deep into the tank, burning through several more time banks until eventually calling. La [Removed:534] then turned over A♣J♥ for two pair and Malec mucked.

Boris Angelov raised to 30,000 in the cutoff and Vahe Martirosyan three-bet to 75,000 in the cutoff. Amerigo Santoro then four-bet to 190,000 on the button and Angelov folded, but Martirosyan moved all in and Santoro called for 250,000.

Franchi Doubles With Aces

Ignacio Sole open-raised to 30,000 from the button and Malcolm Franchi three-bet to 120,000 from the small blind. Sole then four-bet to 230,000 and Franchi called.

The flop came 10♠2♥J♠ and Franchi checked. Sole continued for 80,000 and Franchi check-raised all in for 485,000. Sole made the call with the bigger stack and players flipped their cards.

Franchi had pocket aces, but Sole wasn't out of the hand yet. He had a flush draw, along with an gutshot straight draw and had two chances to catch his outs.

The turn was the 3♣ and the river came another blank, the J♦. Franchi held to win the pot, doubling up and decimating Sole's stack, which earlier in the day had grown to nearly 1,000,000. Franchi chipped up to around 1,500,000, putting him among the chip leaders heading to the break.

Garcia Runs Top Pair Into Two Pair

Miki Vea Garcia raised from middle position and Nicolas Tytgat called in the big blind. The flop came 7♥3♠9♠ and Tytgat checked. Garcia bet 55,000 and Tytgat clicked it back to 110,000. Garcia shoved and Tytgat made the call. Garcia was at risk as players showed their cards.

Zeaiter Gets Paid by Sboev; Petriv Coolers Toledano to Double

Nacho Barbero bet 50,000 from the hijack on a flop of 9♣J♣K♦ and Evgenii Sboev called in the cutoff, as did Leon Zeaiter in middle position.

Zeaiter then led out for 85,000 on the 3♣ turn and only Sboev called. The river was the 7♥ and Zeaiter bet another 160,000.

Sboev tanked for a minute before calling as Zeaiter showed A♣6♣ for the nut flush. Sboev flashed a king and surrendered the pot.

"I'm scared. These guys are too good," Barbero said.

At another table, Stanislav Petriv was all in for 530,000 from the cutoff and up against Valeriano Toledano in the big blind.

Jerome Sgorrano raised to 30,000 on the button and Miguel Capriles moved all in for around 200,000 in the small blind.

"What's the box for?" Sgorrano asked, pointing to the blue-and-white pill-shaped box Capriles was holding.

"For good luck. A chill pill. If I get a bad beat I swallow it. The swallowing isn't the problem. It's getting it back," Capriles replied as Boris Angelov, sitting across from Capriles at another table, turned around with a quizzical look.

"Turn around and play your game," Capriles said to him.

On the next hand, Capriles bet 40,000 from the button on a flop of 8♥6♠J♣ and Mengshi Tian called in the big blind.

The turn was the 3♥, and Capriles moved all in for 199,000. Tian burned through three time banks before calling with A♣6♦ for a pair of sixes, but Capriles showed A♥J♦ for top pair. The river was the 4♠, and Capriles doubled up, leaving Tian on an extremely short stack.

Benoit Lam moved all in for 140,000 under the gun and Khossein Kokhestani gave it some thought in the hijack before folding.

"What is your name?" small blind Leon Zeaiter asked Lam.

"Ben. Benoit in French," Lam replied.

"Good luck," Zeaiter said as he mucked.

Nacho Barbero in the big blind took a peek at his cards and snap-called.

Barbero had picked up kings and left Lam looking for an ace to survive, but he missed the 10♠7♥3♦6♣7♦ board and gave Barbero a high-five before making his exit.

"If I call, you go," Kokhestani said to Barbero, making an X sign with his hands and admitting he folded two sixes.

"If you call, I shove," Barbero replied.

Earlier at this table, Alexandros Kolonias objected to the table-breaking order and argued with the floor so loudly and for so long that a tournament official threatened to have security escort him from the room.
