Scott Margereson Eyeing Consecutive Championships as PS Open Main Event Heads to Day 3
Two months ago, Scott Margereson added a new trophy to his cabinet when he won the €1,650 PokerStars Open Main Event at EPT Malta for €423,700. Today, he is one of 96 contenders remaining on Day 3 of another PS Open Main Event as the PokerStars European Poker Tour headed to Hilton Hotel Prague for their iconic winter stop. If Margereson pulls off the back-to-back, he would pad his bankroll with an additional €583,000, the largest slice of the €4,354,560 prize pool courtesy of the 3,024 total entries.
Although Margereson finds himself in a comfortable position at the start of the penultimate day of the tournament, his stack of 1,660,000 being worth over 66 big blinds, nearly double the average when the clock restarts at noon local time, he falls just shy of the top ten. Meanwhile, the remaining pack is led by Petar Kalev, who will be looking to turn his 2,550,000 chips into his third major PokerStars Live final table appearance.
