Sarwer Gets Away From Looming Disaster
Level 22
: Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jeffrey Sarwer raised to 40,000 in middle position and was called by Terry Jordon in the cutoff and Paawan Bansal in the big blind.
Sarwer continued for 60,000 on the K♣5♣10♦ flop and both opponents called. Sarwer then bet 110,000 on the 2♣ turn, and only Bansal called this time.
Bansal checked to Sarwer on the 8♦ river, and this time Sarwer checked back. Bansal then showed J♣9♣ for a flush.
"I only have ace-king with the ace of clubs," Sarwer said as he mucked A♣K♠.
"I should've check-raised the turn," Bansal said.
"You should've. I got away cheap. Good check back on the turn," Sarwer muttered to himself as he and Bansal joined the rest of the field on break.
