Ace-High Enough for Calio
Level 15
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Giuseppe Calio raised to 8,000 in middle position. Joris Ruijs flat-called in the cutoff before small blind Miroslav Rizov upped it to 41,000. Calio called, while Ruijs opted to get out of the way.
Rizov then checked the 5♣9♣7♥ flop over to Calio. Calio took a stab at the pot with a bet of 20,000, which Rizov called after some thought.
The J♦ turn and 5♥ river were then checked to showdown. Rizov revealed A♥Q♠, and his ace-high was enough to win him the pot as Calio mucked.
